At first I thought...."put it in the Canberra thread"....that would be appropriate....."hmm...no...perhaps, I'll put it in it's own thread....nah...that's a bit self-indulgent...." But then...I had it.... Post it in the thread that I had my first post in! (it is therefore convenient, that Mike Clarke found this thread for me the other day in the car spotters thread)... So...ok then....I thought...what should I put in it?..... "I could put in a big flashy picture that looked sort of celebratory. The best way to do that is with an epileptic-fit-inducing-shockwave-file"...."oh yeah...that'd be awesome....."....perhaps something just odd....you know...just my style... good idea...Except I can't work out how to post swf's in here.....perhaps Paul has it disabled......and I certainly couldn't waste my 2000th post asking him how....! So I ended up deciding to take a walk down mini2 memory lane. My experience on mini2 you see..... So here it is....  MY 2000th POST! It started in this thread in fact....if you go to post #1 you'll see the thread was started by another lurker by the name of Dr Scott (who has since, unfortunately, failed to return to the mini2 fold, but he's still around...) Like most people, I lurked on the site for a while before I first posted. I noticed that there were quite a few Canberrans floating aimlessly about on the site, so I decided I'd like to meet some of them and organised a get-together. This thread toook on a life of it's own, and has since become my mini2 home - the Canberra Region Mini Lovers Thread.  ....  |

Offline | I've been on some sweet cruises with many cool mini2 & ClubMINI folks: The Run to the F-1 in Melbourne I was proud to bring my cousin on a run with the Pirates The fabulous NSW clubMINI launch The clubMINI tumut run and, the recent trip to Bathurst, which was proof that it's more about the people than the cars (because I didn't have mine with me! )There were many many more.... Ironically, this has become three posts...but you all get the point....  Now...I've had a fantastic time with my car, but looking back on it, it wouldn't have been a poofteenth as much fun if I hadn't have been enjoying it in symphony with the mini2 (and later the clubMINI) community. Thanks to all of you on here, in Oz and Overseas, that have made my mini experience a fantastic one! |
