Has anyone received one yet?
My girl friend has been waiting for her new baby.
Sold her old one, shed a few tears and now without a car.
She has been waiting 3 months since ordering for a November delivery and still nothing.
So the question is;
Has anyone in Aus received their November delivery beast?

Blacky - have you got your VIN? You can track the exact location of your car via the shipping company website.

She had a Suzuki Swift Gti for 7 years, black, of course.
The dealer tells me they don't have Vin numbers, not a lot of help really.
Will try again today.

That sound s like BS to me Blacky ... you should be able to get your VIN. Many MINI2ers got their VIN and were able to track their car's progress during shipping using the Wallenius Wilhelmsen freight website.

Is this a special order? They should definately have a VIN. I was able to track my car across the ocean from the moment it appeared on the docks at Southhampton. It is very dependent on what boat it ends up on - sometimes cars can sit for weeks waiting for a ship.

To give you a clue as to waiting times - my car was ordered 27th September 2003, built 13th November 2003, arrived in Sydney 01st January 2004 arrived at the dealer 20th January and I took delivery on the 23rd January. So it was 4 months. for me and there were no hiccups - I ordered at the right time, the car was on a boat within a week and it didn't sit round too long in Australian holding yards before it got to me.

The Dealer is Bib Stillwell, South Yarra.
I have requested the VIN # 3 times, but to receive a simple no not possible response.
Will try again.
Car was ordered 3 - 4 months ago, to our specifications and for a Nov delivery.
The dealer cannot tell us anything about delivery at this stage.
The last comment was that it would be in November.
Well that is closing down fast, and there is still no response.
GF is getting a little ****ed because she is now without a car.
So I guess it is just the waiting game.

Let's just say after a short discussion with Simon, we purchased the car from Jeff @ BS.
I can say they have some interesting sales tactics.
Anyhow, we got the deal we wanted and Jeff got his sale.
Well maybe not, we still don't have a car and it is nearing the end of November.
FYI, the deposit was placed 19th of Aug for a confirmed Nov delivery.
I guess the problem is not that we don't have a car, it is the simple none response to were it is?
They cannot tell us anything, simple.
What are we in the dark ages?
I am sure Sal will love the car when she gets it, as she ordered basically everything except SATNAV and Chrome Exterior.
Well still waiting and again have asked for VIN #.

Good luck. If they won't hand over a VIN, you can be pretty certain that foul play is afoot.

Even so, three months is an incredibily optimistic estimate.

Craig, maybe you need to ask a bit higher for your VIN.

As far as I can tell most dealers have been pretty open to passing on that sort of info. Did you get given a production number? This will not help you track your car, but it should have been supplied to the dealer once your order was placed and confirmed before it was built. Once the car is built the VIN should be available.

That was basically my next move, and to try to speak with someone other than the sales person.
Will give it a go tomorrow.
I know it is crazy.
Surely they must track the cars themselve to help with cash flow etc.
It really doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I agree. I would have thought that the dealer would know to the day when the car arrives in Australia. I'll grant that they may not know how long customs clearance will take, but if your car has landed on the docks then I cannot see why the dealer would not know about it.

Jeff our mate at BSM has no given us the good news.
The Nov delivery Cooper S is arriving at their dealer ship tomorrow, Yippy I hear.
Another weekend without a beasty car.
So I believe Monday is the day.

Well it has arrived!
Many thanks Jeff for delivering Sal's new Cooper S in November.
She picked it up last night, and all is well.
Looks like the other bucket of bolts is out on the street and the new Baby of the house gets the garage.
Bummer!
