hi there all im new here, ive read that there is some auto MCS coming out? is that true and is it coming to australia?

if so when?

Any car from Jan 05 build can have the auto. Its a 6 speed apparently. So order now and you should see it in Mar/Apr

Yeah, there was an article in last weeks Herald Sun about it... 6 spd Auto.

It should be nice. This is what Im trying to get my mum to buy

Yes you can order now, the auto is available on MY05 January onward production. My dealer, bless his soul, had to deal with me - cabrio this, cabrio that before he knew anything about the car; then my Mother (who is totally cool) after being whizzed around by me in an S declares that she would like an auto one. Mines been built, Mum has a January build slot- delivery in March.

Between us that's 2/3 of an Italian Job!!

I spoke to Peck & Stokes yesterday... they are talking about $45000ish for a convertible, plus $2200 for the auto, so I would assume that it will be the same for the sedan...

My mum is very keen also!!

Heh heh. So we have established that an auto MCS is a mums car.... Sounds about right. Seriously, though, as much as the MX5 my mother owns is a great handler, and the open top driving is awesome, the auto is a performance killer, and the MCS auto would be far more engaging. She would lose a little bit of turn in, but the MCS aint that bad as a handler... Ok, its great....Mum, about your MX...... Auto cabrio, perhaps...
