| Boy who made the wolf cry | I plan on taking the time out to do some more driver training and then attending track days as much as I can (when I get my car back) I am going to get a set of rims and tyres when I can afford them , that are dedicated track tyres... My car came from the dealer floor stock so the DSC wasnt an option. I was very impatient and wanted my Mini yesterday. I loved the CR/B and didnt want to hold off for months waiting for the car to arrive... Todd PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |

Offline | Government statistics are void when it comes to Driver Tuition. At the end of the day we're all human and are prone to errors, what makes an experienced driver experienced is that they've been in the P plate situation and have learnt from their mistakes in the past. That's how one can advance from a novice driver to an experienced driver, at what level this takes place is subjective. At least you folks aren't blaming speed for the majority of accidents.. (Which can't be proven, because you need stupidity/irresponsibility before speed becomes a factor) |

Offline | Vic, I should probably have pointed out in my post that when they talk about technology in the National Road Safety Strategy, they are talking about road infrastructure based technology rather than in-vehicle technology. Driver aids such as DSC fall in the "safer vehicles" category and, in fact, driver aids probably make up a large part of potentially safer vehicles. Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | We mightn't be, but our authorities do. To the point that most people think that NOT speeding = safe driving and if one does speed, even by as little as 5km/h over the limit, then you are a menace to society. ![]() |
