I read an article in the News Ltd "Carsguide" onlinemagazine regarding the way various car manufacturers will handle the tariff reduction from January 1, 2005. The three options canvassed were: do nothing, reduce price, or increase the value of the package by bolting on more stuff. The impression I got was that BMW AU would choose the last option. Has anyone heard what this might mean in terms of the standard specs. for Minis? I would like to know, as we ordered a MC Chilli for my wife on November 30 with a projected late March delivery date.

The chilli pack IS BMW's way of dealing with it.

It was not available 12 months ago who I got my car - a lot of the things that were options then are included in the chilli bizzo at a reduced price.

There was a price adjustment in Sept/Oct with the introduction of the Chilli pack. The base models went down the chilli pack added some functionality, etc. This was Mini's response to the tarriff reduction and was pre factored in.

All MCS's from Jan 05 build come standard with LSD... I don't know how much it was when it was an option but it's now included. A little bonus for moowha!
