Offline   | Aftermarket security systems available in Oz? Has anyone here fitted an after market security system to their beloved machine? If so, what did you install, how much did it cost and what have your experiences been with the system? Any reccomendations? |

Offline | I can't see why you'd bother - the factory system is quite good (as it is in most modern european cars these days) and if someone wants it bad enough to be able to beat that, then they can have the bloody thing :P |

Offline | Thats the thing - i wouldnt want my car stolen, but an alarm is judt a hurdle in the equation, if they want it they will take it. They can break into my house and take my key, its on my drawer - save them trying to get passt some sophisticated alarm. I'd prefer they did that than hijack me... Offline | When I was speccing the car, I was told that the optional OEM alarm (not the immobiliser) was just a horn - and it was going for a fresh $600....obviously I declined.... Hopefully my dealer wasn't telling me porkies and there is actually more to the optional alarm... (He also talked me out of the anthrecite headliner and DSC  )...oh well....too late now...I took delivery today!!!  |
