Cruise Sunday 23rd Jan 2005?

Hey all,

ok... a bit of background... I am a photographer and journalist in Sydney and currently am driving a Mini Cooper S (non-works... pity!!) and have the car for a week to write a review and would love to go for a bit of a cruise with you...

I am mate of Ross and he put me onto you guys and said you would come out for a bit of fun, so hopefully you don't let him down !!

I am actually going to be on a cruise with the Altezza club (IS200 etc) of Aust as well as a few Clio Sports, but it would be great to have a Mini presence there as well.

The drive is designed as a fund raiser for the Tsunami, but Ross said that you did one last week. I think there is a donation box that will be passed around and people are talking about a gold coin or note donation, so hopefully that won't put you off. I will also be taking my camera gear along on the day. I have a Canon EOS 1D and will be using a 28-70 EF L series lens and will be taking pix of most of the people that come along.

Detials are as follows...

Meeting at Homebush at this stage, but might change...

Time: 8.30AM

would love to see as many of you there as possible. We are going to head up the old road, so you can still do that ritual, but we willl then keep going...

cheers,

andrew

Sounds great Andrew... Im sure you will get a fist full of people to come play.

As for me - too far away! I'd love to come, but Im busy - there is a run in Vic that day.

What publications do you work for? It a shame you missed out on last weekend!

Is Ross as in ^UB^? That guy is trouble hehehe

Welcome to Mini2.

About this cruise is there any more information you can give us, like when will you near PITS or where you will end up? We need more info if you want us to get more people along, as alot of Mini owners don't look on here (we either email/phone/sms them).

Cheers

Karen,

thanks for welcoming me...

at this stage I am not too sure when we are all getting to Pie in the sky as the meeting point is @ homebush, and it may be a while before we can get from there to pie...

also any guesses that I make might be a bit dodge, so this then opens up a few options...

1) we have a meeting point in homebush and you come along on the drive day with us, or go on your old road bit with us and then stop there....

or 2) I meet up with you @ pie at a time, and then try and meet up with Altezza / Clio clubs and go from there...

personally first is better, but if it isn't going to work then that is fine...

come on people, there must be more than one of you !!

A few of the MINI regulars at PITS(Pie in the Sky) drive down from the coast, so I have a feeling it will be hard for them to meet up at homebush.

Red face

Greetings all,

Matt here from the Altezza Club. New on the scene, we are still in our embryonic stages of development at the moment, but have had a few successful events, and looking forward to many more! (See page 125 of the Feb issue of Speed magazine for an example!)

Anywhoo - Hoping we can see some more supercharged, corner eating goodness joining us on Sunday!

All details/updates are here:
http://s4.invisionfree.com/lexusalte...?showtopic=727

Or for those adverse to following links, read on:

FIRST Meeting spot is outside the Superdome in Olympic Park, this Sunday morning, 8:30am:

From here we will head out to Berowra, stopping at the Mobil there. This would be the best place to meet up with anyone else who is out that way, we should get there approx. 10:15am.
From here, we will indulge in the old road, and then drop down into Gosford and head through to Terrigal.
At Terrigal we will probably regroup up on the hill, and then send a small squadron down to procure food/drinks. At this point we will also have a raffle and gawk at each others rides!

Any questions?

Welcome to Mini2.

I, and a few others, are locals of the Central Coast. Im keen for a cruise and hopefully we can make it on Sunday.

Theres a few good spots in Terrigal to eat, but parking is the worst on the weekend.

If you have any questions, just ask....

Cheers

Guys,

If all goes well I'll be picking up my new car on Saturday (MCSC) and will try to come and meet at Homebush Bay, but not sure I'll be coming on the drive as I already have other commitments. It'd be good just to say hi, so in future I can come along for the day.

No can do at this stage. There's still a question mark over me getting the car on Sat due to the finance company taking an age to process the paperwork. Also I've got other commitments in Sydney at 10am. But we'll see, I've waited 6 months for the car and would like to get out as much as poss this weekend.
