Test drove a Cool Blue Cooper S and a Hot Orange CVT Cooper cabrio this afternoon. I liked it a LOT more than I expected to. They are a heap of fun. Don't really like it with the roof closed but if I had a MINI as a weekend car only I wouldn't hesitate. Not real practical as a daily driver. Nevertheless I am impressed.

congratulations!

the yellow looks great. I had the pleasure of driving a new mcsc on wednesday and was very impressed by how nicely it drove. Happy motoring.

Sweet Car! The yellow is about the most extroverted you can get, and why wouldn't you be, considering you have such an awesome car?!

Hope you don't mind being stared at!! People are going to be fascinated by it!

Congratulations!

For those that want the convertible look without the wind in the hair feeling take a look at this roof graphic I saw in another post by Alexpalex.

Then took out the auto Hot Orange CVT Cooper cabrio. It was fun too. Should anyone test drive, consider the rear view in traffic in comparison to rear view from a hard top.

We got abit excited driving the cabrios, even to the extend of Chris (EB/W MCS) and I sitting in the back with the top down, waving our hands crazying out the top to everyone who went past and playing "corners" in the back, whilst getting driven around by Stu.

Heaps more fun than I expected, but I couldn't see it as a daily driver for me, as it felt abit cramped with the roof up, but it's great.

Congrats to everyone who's getting one.

Cheers

Karen

Did you feel it was pretty cramped in the back. They've taken up a fair bit of room for the roof 'arms' to fold down into at the sides of the rear...That's probably the only thing we didn't like about it..

Chance to drive a Cabrio in the mountains

I was down at Jindabyne waterskiing over the weekend and ran into a Melbourne Mini Dealer (owner) who was cruising in a all black MCS/Cabrio. he had a good look at my car and well asked me if i wanted to go for a blat up Alpine way to Thredbo.
So i was given a chance to really push the cabrio. I think i have scarred the man for life as i had the cabrio sideways around some sharp corners with the DSC off.

Anyways.... yes its a good thing... but doesn't handle as well as a tin top!!! Ive driven standard MCS and Cabrio and yes its amazing how much more body flex it has and how much heavier it felt when punching across the apex of corners. The Cabrio understeers more and relies even more on the DSC to get it around the corner.
I have to admit though that the 2005 model pulls as smoothly as mine does after a MTH upgrade. They have obviously sorted alot of bugs out.

Oh yeah... just a thing to look out for if you buy a CABRIO..... if your 6'2 with the standard seats in there lowest position i was coping bugs on the forhead... not fun.

Thumbs up

Congratulations eeney!!

I was a wee bit worried that you wouldn't get it this weekend but look what happened
Love the colour, love the interior love everything!!

It's been a long wait so enjoy it!

I have to wait 14 more days

Driving around Newy on Sunday morning in their triple blue MCSC has done nothing but make me even crazier.
