A few tasty morsels from today’s Dutton Rally fun. Caught up with Robbo and Stu finally ( ) tonight in Goulburn.

A really tops day - the quick time movies that I caught are cool as were they guys driving the Mini entries

(Will have to do another run out to Burra too )

Good to catch

Oh, yeah the drive back from Goulburn reminded me to that say that anyone who thinks that Mini's need Driving lights cause they don't put out enough light with the standard ones is full of BS IMVHO. If you want them for looks then cool but the standard high beam is bloody fantastic especially with the Phillips Vision Plus globes.

I don't think I have met any MINI owner that has driving lights that actually admits to using them. Any that I have asked about it have said outright that they only have them for the look of them.

Edit: Nice pics, keep 'em coming.

I did buy them for the appearance, yeah - but I use the high beams often, especially coming home from our late drive days, and they are brilliant.

I admit i am superficial! My priority was putting them on, then eventually finding someone I can trust to wire them up.(which is still to be done)

I am sure they'll add some extra light once hooked up but I don't know if I really need them.

I had big ***** Hella's on my Pajero and used them all the time but only because they were there, and pi $$ off people who had the audacity to cut me off!!! (I used to live in Bathurst and visit my girlfriends farm all the time, hence the need for 4x4) I never used to wash it because I didn't want to look like a soccer mum when I was in Sydney.

If you run into the back of someone aren't you always at fault according to the law?

Yep, especially if the person that runs into you was half asleep at the time

Oh yeah, I drove the Currawong Road (Tarago to Collector ) last night and while there's some fantastic tar, there is also 8 k's of dirt. The dirt isn't too bad but I'd imagine that most Mini people would feel uncomfortable driving on it. Was kind of cool driving on a twisty dirt road (the one out at Mum and Dad's is fairly straight) cause you can get some nice oversteer in the dirt just by flicking the steering wheel

I also did the Old Hume Highway (Culleran (spelling??) Road) back through Gunning and Gundaroo. Both Gunning and Gundaroo are nice quiet little towns - with cafés suitable for keeping an eye on Mini's too.

Given that Mick expressed a desire to do a drive this coming weekend and I'm always keen for a fang, lets get an idea about who is around, ie what days/times your available, and any preferences for a drive route.

I'm free Saturday, Sunday and/or Monday and am up for either short or long drives or just a meet up
