Offline | Dad was telling me that he saw a LY/W Mini (wasn’t sure if it was a cooper or S) which had t-boned another car in Fyshwick today . He said that it happened just after it started raining near Bunnings and it looked pretty bad. Hope everyone is OK ![]() Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | I spotted a LY/LY MCS on a flat bed with frontal damage heading city bound along Canberra Avenue out of work's window while eating lunch today. That was one of the saddest things seeing Little Blue on the back of a truck being taken away. ![]() |

Offline | That is truly a sweet story mister Tiaan - and I'm hoping it was a modern car. Older cars such as old volksies - even my old mans 85 Pajero! - have a habit of thier keys fitting other cars as well. So I hope your dad's mate didn't whisk someones pride and joy away that the key just coincidentally fit. Hmmm that would be embarrassing. ![]() |

Offline | Here are the details http://www.clubmini.com.au/nsw/files/launch.pdf. We are planning to meet at Eagles Nest (or what ever it's called - where the petrol station and Ridges is on the Federal Hwy just out of Canberra) at about 7:30 and leaving there at about 8:00 on Sunday morning. edit: oh yeah and this thread in the Aussie forum http://www.mini2.com/forum/australia/85438-clubmini-nsw-launch-bbq.html Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | "Accidentally" - yeah yeah sure baz . So if you don't want to tell us a total running amount, give us an idea of monthly average mod cost so far ![]() Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

| Still kickin' along | well..that would be rather unfair to the true rate of expendature....as the first mod was a particularly expensive one... , whereas the other mods since have been 'peasant' mods......no where near your $700 guages.... ...So...for Andrew's viewing pleasure, mods thus far: Merc C-class aerial: FREE!! Illegal Tint: $200 Springs: $500 - shipping AND fitting Aero Kit: $2200 Colour Coding and aerokit painting and fitting: $1800 mini2.com sticker: FREE!! Alta CAI: $secret Chrome Mirror Caps: $200 Total: $5000ish Average: $633.75 Per KM (Total, 9000!!!): $0.56 Per Week: $563 See, if you take the aero kit out, you will get a true idea: Average of $176 per mod....planning that per pay....will leave me with enough money to pay for the 5 tanks of petrol I go through each week! It's just that I make such a big fuss about it that you are acutely aware of the state of my wallet, Andrew! Now....if my accountant-dad finds out these numbers, I'm in big trouble!! I challenge others to match my overwhelming honesty!! (ANDREW!!! ) And lay their mod list out for our viewing pleasure....perhaps I'll start a new thread...?? BTW... Wheel specs were right, except the toe was in degrees, and the machine they use is in mm....but that's easily solved.....everything else matched their data.... As for the fastest Alta CAI in Oz....I fear I'm only further fuelling the tit-Gadget phenomenon.... Alan, I saw you checking out my colour-coded arches the other day.... Also; Had a closer look at the stock swaybar while the beast was up on the jacks...that looks like it's going to be an absolute prick of a job....got to take the exhaust and most of the rear-underside assembly out to put it in.....it's pretty snug! The MCS swaybar dosen't look to tiny either.... Last edited by Tit : Mar 21st, 2005 at 10:09 AM. |
