| Boy who made the wolf cry | It takes ages to load up - like all of the BMW worldwide sites!?! (I am on broadband) and it is a little bit glitchy on my mac sometimes - if im looking for info I go to the US site as it generally has been updated in the last month and has cooler games and promos.. I just need a credit card so I can start getting stuff from the lifestyle shop in the US - their stuff is WAY cooler ![]() www.mini.com - follow to USA PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |

Offline | Loading 15%.................... hang Excuse me whilst I stab my computer with the remote control for the TV (the closest thing to hand).Don't know about the rest of you but I'm really REALLY over the use of Flash on web pages. It's just so gimmicky and rarely achieves results that are better than more traditional HTML pages. Many corporate users can't access flash web pages (I can't at work - but this will probably change when they finally get around to installing XP SP2 which has Flash 7 built in). Flash tends to create confusion over structure, it's difficult to revisit a specific location at a later date, it's slow and resource intensive. The list goes on. What ever happened to the KISS principle?? Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | gotta agree andrew... i can't find the 'SKIP INTRO' button quick enough! ![]() that said, a mate showed me a collegue's flash site the other week, & i think it actually uses flash to enhance html design, rather than just to having bouncing balls & crap all over the screen ![]() www.head4design.com |

| Boy who made the wolf cry | "There's pictures of me mum!! ... on the internet!!" - Tara Reid Cruel Intentions The internet is still a rapidly growing area - even though the .com bubble burst - there is still money to be made in web development for those with the skills... Check out my work site... www.bang.com.au We are just taking the ****** out of the oppositions sites and having a play with everybody. Our website had one idea in mind - FUN... we dont want to tell our potential client what color underwear we wear on any given day, we wanted to get them to view, have a laugh and then contact us... We have had great feed back! It needs a tidy up on some design elements and add the sound of the chickens squashing and caars revving - I'm getting to it...Notice the lack of 'stock shots'... I HATE STOCK SHOTS!! We used flash for our site as we think that if people cant see flash on their computer to see us, their work probably isnt worth the headache anyway... it sounds arrogant but we are a small company with niche clients, if someone cant see flash - they need to get with the times. We have a dodgy little section for 'Non-flash' users, that can also be used via internet enabled phones too - that has all the same info. Our flash site is also only 149kb - which is jack all... The best part about it is that it features a wonderful car Todd P.S - if you want to see a kicka$$ flash site check out: www.crumpler.com.au - turn the sound down - its loud ![]() PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |

| You are number 6 | Sorry Todd, never got to see the wonderful car, I just don't have the patience to dredge through that site. When I want information or a service I want it quickly and easily, I don't want to be entertained or have to play games guessing which bit of the screen might give me what I want. It's not about using flash or not using flash, it is about making life easy for the customer. Only this morning a company with a fabulous product that I really want, lost my business because they have a crap site. Too many website designers forget that just because you can doesn't mean you should ![]() |

| You are number 6 | Hang on Todd, I don't have ideas, only criticisms; that way you do all the hard work and I have all the fun It is not your site in particular, just the type of site, I also had a look at the link to the crumpler site and lasted about 10 seconds before giving it a miss. ![]() |

Offline | Takes forever on my broadband... really bad design. I suppose its testiment to the fact that BMW doesn't have to sell these cars - they sell themselves. |
