| Still kickin' along | well....could let the bidding war begin! perhaps a fight to the death...? with seedy music like on an old-school star trek episode...(I seem to remember one where kirk had to fight spock to marry some vulcan chick.....) ....how cool's star trek music!!! This'll test my allegences: fellow DS (by far the superior colour ) owner, or fellow Canberran (by far, the superior place to live ).....you know I'll have to go for the highest bidder.....got to alleviate the pain on the $$$ spent on the aero kit.... PM Me.... by the way..if anyone's interested...my final quote on getting the normal MCS skirts etc colour coded, at Alto BMW Pennant Hills was $1200....the best quote i'd gotten so far....and I can say, they did a neat job.....(the aero kit ended up costing more to do...but lets not go there ) |

Offline | I just purchased today a GPS Road Safety Warning system (Uniden brand) for a touch under $300, this device clips to your windscreen so I will be transferring between the Cruiser and the JCWMCS. It has all red light cameras, speed cameras, black spots and school zones (I think on the last one) already loaded into it, and flashes as you approach from 600 metres then beeps as you get closer, you can also mark your own spots and download updates from the internet for free, plus it tells you your speed and direction and evens has other stuff i am still learning about. Will give a report and photos soon. If anyone is interested in such a Unit in Sydney, i know the retailer really well and i am sure he will give clubMINI members a discount. Vic ![]() |

| Still kickin' along | ordered a set of alta lowering springs last night off mini motive ...yer...AUD$270 delivered...not too bad I suppose....(until, of course, I get hit with import duties.... )planning to stockpile some goodies and then take 'em down to peak or somewhere and get them all put on at once... By the way, what experience has anyone out there had with getting these sorts of things sent in from the US/UK? How do they contact you and get you to pay the duties? Because I've heard some pretty dodgy stories about people in the postal service or customs trying to get their 'own cut' by telling people they owe $$ before the recipient can collect their goods...when in reality, they are pocketing the money themselves. I sent my girlfriend a present from Canada two years ago worth over $200 and some guy turned up at their place (a delivery boy) and told her she had to give him $50 for duties before he would hand over the parcel ....needless to say she told him to smeg off... |
