If its still doing it, I dont think its the belt. Ive got a 19 with the Gator belt and have just recently had redline slipping. However, this is a fresh belt and I would imagine maybe might need a bit of extra tensioning. It could be your belts stretched a tiny bit and may need the same or at least a new belt regardless of type.

Hi Robbo

Unfortunately the codes that you get through menu 14 are numerical codes that don't correlate with the letter/number type codes that you would get if you hooked it up to a diagnostics computer I haven't seen anywhere where they are actually decoded either But your right, rather than guessing, take it to Peake or BMW and they can tell you straight away what is likely to be causing it.

Hey guys, thanks heaps for all your help.

The belt i installed was a brand new shorter one that came with my pulley from ALTA. Its a NAPA belt.

Peter Kaiser is very helpful, and I'm sure he'll be willing to check it out.

Robbo, i was actually thinking in buying a OBD scanning tool + plug to hook into my laptop. Where can you find the software and the cord?

Black MCS Alta CAI, MTH, OBX + One-ball, Alta Diverter w/ Sprayer, Recalibrated BPV, Alta 17% Pulley, Denso IK22s, Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3s 215/40/17, Whiteline 20mm Adjustable Rear Swaybar, Ferodo DS2500s, Motul RB600, TCE SS braided brake lines

Unless your car received compliance after January this year, it's not likely to work - it certainly didn't on my 03/03 MCS. The OBD II standard only came into force in Australia at the start of this year for cars in production prior to Jan 05.

no, but OBD-II has been legislated in the US for a number of years and the cars delivered to there are different.

The Bentley Mini manual has a table of MINI FC (Fault Codes). The numbers range from 48 to 9220. Are they the numbers that will come up when in menu 14?

I have been unable to find, in the Bentley manual, that these numbers are seen through menu 14.

It's been a while since I looked into it, but I don't think so - but I could be wrong

Nice one Tiaan, you made it yourself (rather than buying their one?)

I'm not a fan of the lid personally, but it looks good mate.
