yer...sounded pretty good...

knowing my luck I'll get burned:

http://www.terrysaytherauto.com/MINIOnlineStoreSusp.htm

got the confirmation and everything by email....hopefully there's no probs...

Brad was telling me that when he got his altas, they had 'eibach' written on the tops of them!! Wonder if they are re-sprayed eibachs?

Alan, how do you know who you're giving your credit card details to? I'm just one of those 'un-trusting' sort of people when it comes to getting phone calls telling me I have to hand over credit card details....hmmm....

If you have ordered a set of Alta springs that are going to be delvered by say FedEx, And you get a phone call from a company caled fedEx that say we have your Alta Springs you could pretty much reckon that is the case, as opposed to some elaborate hoax hatched to rob you of about $70. However you could always get the details from them and call them back.

So, you're saying, if I know I'm being delivered a set of Alta springs through FedEx and someone from Joes Parcel Delivery telling me my life-size cardboard cutout of David Hasslehoff has arrived and I have to pay $400 dollars, cash, in person, at a designated drop-off point somewhere in Campbelltown, then I should be suspicious?

I suppose what I meant was, people who actually work for those companies, who try to rip you off on the side is what I'm worried about...mind you, credit card transactions leave a paper trail, and some recourse....whereas, the dude that turned up at my girlfriends house looking for cash was obviously dodgy....(even though he turned up in the 'FedEx' van wearing the 'FedEx' uniform, parcel in hand...)

By the way Alan, do you remember approximately what the duty rates are? Are they the same as GST? Or are they different? Are the handling fees an arbitrary number designed to supply the delivery company's friday afternoon case of beer....?

....

Too right you should be suspicious.

Nobody sells cardboard cutouts of David Hasslehoff that cheaply.

Tit,

Cost of goods converted to AUD$
add 5% duty (for most automotive bits)
then add 10% GST
Fedex etc will charge a lodgement fee which is usually around $35

If Duty + GST does not exceed $50 they usually dont charge it, so argu with FEDEX or
whoever.

Australian Customs dept have a help line, look it up.

Hope this helps.

I agree Scotty, that's why I ordered them in the first instance But the look on Robs face, delivery day, when I walked around the corner past the car and announced "Rob we have a problem" was pure gold And hey I had them for a week, and now that I have black ones everyone thinks there is something different about my car, but they can't put their fingers on it!!

LOL
TBH I think they tend to get more freaked out than the new owners, it can be quite chaotic in there
When i picked up my car apre black stripes I did have a 'roof off' with a woman in a 330ci, now that was funny

Hi,

It looks great

Just don't drive too fast with only one side fitted The aerodynamic vortex created by this imbalance may suck your car sideways

Next mod ?? Mow the lawn

Cheers
