| in28ive | Bit the bullet and have 2 more mods. A rear solid sway bar and ordered the Unichip with 2 maps. It will be configured allowing for my other mods. Also changed my side vent thingys, whatever they are called and now have the new JCW ones, base as well. Mini did not miss me with them If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |

Offline | I don't know if he can do R56's yet, I will ask him when I talk to him next. I wouldn't personally go the Uni Q from the states, when I got mine and the fella that was custom tuning it for me saw what the map was like on it he told me I wouldn't have had an engine much longer. Also just FYI if you do want to get it custom tuned over here, the Uni Q program that the tuners use won't let it tune a US Chip. When I tuned mine they could do it with the first program but an update came through which locks them out of Foreign Unichips. I do know of one tuner that kept the first copy as a back up though, if he still has it that is. |

| in28ive | Spoke to C&J and they said they could do the UNichip tuning if needed. Jan won't be able to tune the R56 ECU as it has only been cracked by one person and that is still fledgling in its application. In any case I want to leave the R56 chip alone as I want to be able to go back to mini (car is only 1 year old) with the Plug n play unit removed in case of any "claims". The Unichip for the 56 is coming to me with the maps that have been developed in conjunction with Alta and M7 as they have the majority of the mods on my beast. In any case i got it cheap enough to re-sell to someone with a standard Mini if need be. I appreciate the heads up guys, i know you have had some woeful experiences with the earlier model and have already felt the pain, but most of what i have seen is good about this mod and i always have the parachute of being able to remove it myself in 10 minutes. I just cannot wait to see what i can get down the main straight at QR with it on! If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |

Offline | That's cool, just be very careful that is all I am saying. I phoned C&J at underwood there and they were going to rip me off cause I didn't buy it from them so I went elsewhere. Also just remember that unless they have the first version of the Unichip software program they won't be able to access the chip at all, it will lock them out. I know this cause it did it to mine and we were lucky that they still had the early version. Even though the Uni Q is programmable, the way you are buying it is a best guess and not to your cars workings. It is still a canned tune. |

| in28ive | I am actually the Clubmini Event coordinator so I will definitely be there on the 14th. About 150KW at the wheels without the Unichip. Thts running bout 9 pounds of boost. The Unichip runs about 16 pounds so its anyone's guess what it will produce post-Unichip fitment. ![]() If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |

Offline | This goes to steve, Gregg and Sambo (Don't know your real name sorry!!) I have been speaking to Jan from RMW and he will be able to tune the R56 in a couple of months. He is just waiting on a few things. So if you are interested in the RMW tune that I am organising in October you are more than welcome to participate now. This also goes out to any other R56 owners that want to do this. I will post this up on the "Who wants a RMW Tune" Thread as well. |

Offline | Just added a couple of cool little mods after a package arrived from the states last week. These being - Gen 2 3rd brake light pulsar (doesnt keen flashing when you re-apply the brakes within 10 secs - wont annoy anyone caught behind me in traffic) - Rear fog lights linked into the brake lights. (those people behind me in traffic will get their faces lit up everytime i hit the brakes - may be mildly annoying to them but should stop them running up the back of me) - Glove box tidy... (keeps the stuff in my glovebox... tidy) Do these things get looked at for judging at the show n shine or do I have to sit in the beast and tap the brakes every 5 mins throughout the day ![]() I have also ordered a high flow filter replacement to go with the JCW airbox (simple swap with the paper element). I need to toss up whether or not to keep the JCW box and new filter or to swap it back to the Alta CAI... decisions decisions... :P Next change up will be rubber... will see what the taxman gives back to me... |

| in28ive | Well i went to the track and tried the Falken Azenis 225/45ZR17 and the grip was great. One problem, they rub when i try to set my coilovers lower. Would've been better of having the shocks at standard height. Anybody want 'em? I have done 4 laps and driven back from Warwick with them on. I am driving around with them on now if anyone wants to see them. If you are travelling in the same direction as your wheels are pointing- You aren't trying hard enough. |
