Details, Details man!

Someone asked if that was a fuel filter - nope! looks to me like the appropriate air filter for the JCW airbox top you have there.

Let us know how the centre speedo and steering wheel tacho conversion goes - I'd like to do that myself (sniffs -as misses his Porsche 911 dash).

My new wheels - finally on!!

Yup, they're finally on!!!

I've posted a before and many after shots

I'm rapt! I got Michellin Pilot Preceda 205/45/R17's on them. The tyres look a bit bad in the photos because I hadn't blacked them - it was bloody windy, and to do that I had to put the car in the garage, and I ran out of time to put it in and take it back out again for photos (the light went).

haha The head supercharger are off a new 05 and are standard at the moment. long term plan is for more low down grunt, so the head is getting done by a good mate, I say a port and polish mainly to help with heat management, but he is talking big values and other things

The charger is getting a smaller pulley, don't know 16% or 17% still looking in to see which one I think will suit my needs. But the biggest prob I have a the moment is one of traction, as I am going thru front tires. I have 16" with 205/45/16 so I looking to go up to a bigger size rim thus more rubber and in a hope that the bigger rim will keep some of the wheel spin at bay.

Kev drove past work today and showed me once they were fitted... the photos don't do them justice... they look REALLY good in the flesh.

May i ask what power you are putting out to have traction problems in a mini?

Yeah todd I just couldnt imagine traction being a big issue in these cars. I have put substantial power through front drives before with reasonable success.
I have to try hard to break traction in the Mini. He must be putting down some big power.

You can spin the wheels if you jam the throttle out of a corner... thats what I assume is his issue.

16" tyres also spin up much easier. I could lose traction in my car with 17" easy too... just not without side stepping the clutch at 4 grand with the traction off.

Turn traction off

Todd

Yeah i know you can get some wheel lift spin out of corners but even that is minimal..Or my Mini is severly under powered to others
I would guess that he would be very happy with his traction if he took a tough front drive turbo for a spin.

HEP HEP! A mate had a VTEC Turbo Civic that made 156kw at the treads... I went for a burn in that and boy was it weird when the front wheels let go when it came on boost!

Ha ha My MINI is no drag machine, nor do I want it to be. The problem is where Todd has stated, coming out of the corners and I am trying to get the power down. The problems had got worst since I removed the run flats and when down in type profile and tire weight. Also my early build seems to have a bit more get up go than others I have driven, now with my worn types if I get on the gas in any of the first three gears I will get the DCS to come on.

I also have the “hard as rocks” early suspension and I don’t know if this adding to the problem.
