Offline | Nice wallaby shots - a mate of mine sent me some photos from Indonesia where a python had swallowed a boy - too gross for words. Speaking about maneaters no-ones mentioned sharks yet - when I was growing up in Albany they still hunted whales (right up to 1978) - they used to fill them with air and leave them tethered out in the bay until they were ready to cut them up at the whaling station. Meanwhile out in the bay you could watch the sharks tearing into the whales. At one point Vic Hislop caught a world record white pointer near Albany. Needless to say no-one went swimming anywhere near the whaling station. |

| Livin' the country life | I was hoping that we would stick with the terrestrial treasures of our big brown land. Anywho, I was talking to a dear friend who is a champion game fisherman and his wife who is an Australian record holder, in the same arena, who told me why when a BIG shark is caught they don't 'open them up' in public any more. Seems a couple of years ago a rather large tiger was "unzipped" in front of a large crowd in Port Stephens only for a human arm to fall out onto the deck amongst other half digested tit bits The owner of the arm was never to be discovered ![]() ![]() |

Offline | Cute looking boofhead of a dog. Dogs are my fave - my pup is a 12 year old boxer cross german shepard. She went through a stage of arranging all her left over bones neatly next to each other on a cross brace/beam under the patio furniture table - sort of a proud display of her collection Anyway she has managed to bag herself 2 possums to date, which despite them being protected, I have to say I am quite impressed. My dog has all the stealth of a marching band trying to escape a runaway float! ![]() |

| Big mouth strikes again | Guys! Just listen to this nightmare: Yesterday in one of the hospitals I work regularly, the nurses wanted to put a patient back to bed in the evening. They had him all securely grabbed and were about to throw him into bed, when someone pulled back the bedsheets and... TA-TA!!! a fully grown black dougat was curling underneath.... they nearly dropped the patient of course... Mind you, when I am on duty, nothing ever happens (at least nothing out of the ordinairy...) ... Will I ever see a snake? |
