| Big mouth strikes again | By the way, there is another cute little reptile story I just HAVE to tell you (It was told to me by a colleague I worked with in Gnowangerup District Hospital, WA down South...): A tourist family from Korea was admitted to a small country hospital down south after a car accident... Appearantly they were speeding and hit the brakes with gusto for .... a blue tongue lizard! After they'd rolled their car, they laid for hours on the roof in the heat and didn't dare to climb out of the car, just in case the "mother crocodile" was still around... The lizard survived and made its way to the bush, unimpressed... PMSL As usual, I didn't happen when I was around..... ![]() |

Offline | Ah ha ha ha, that's a classic I've seen heaps of snakes over the years. If my experience is anything to go by, even if you do encounter a snake, the chance of being bitten is very remote - provided your not sitting there poking it with a stick .Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

Offline | It's not a one eyed snake joke but it's close (sorry if you've seen it already) A guy walks into the psychiatrist wearing only Clingfilm for shorts. The shrink says: "Well, I can clearly see you're nuts." Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

| Cruising In The Minge | when i lived in Darwin about 15 yrs ago we would go out on magical mushroom tours (as you do) and a mate of mine got bit by a spider on th inside of his arm just below the elbow. He reported a bit of tightness in the arm but didnt bother about it hoping it woild go away. (didnt want to get blood tested incase they found the mushrooms he had consumed) After a week the arm was so swollen it was almost unrecognisable and we finally convinced him he best go to the doctor before the arm fell off. On the way in the back of the car (not mine thankfully) he accidentally bumped the arm causing a stream of the most putrid puss you have ever had the displeasure of smelling and seeing across the seat onto the other passenger in the back. It was like a tap, ive never seen anything like it, just a continual stream of puss squirting across the back seat onto my ther mate. Needless to say the 2 of us in the front thought this highly amusing and literally wet oursleves laughing. By the time we arrived at the doctors the arm had gone down considerably, he was given some medication and we went on our merry way ![]() ![]() 2002 PS/PS JCW MC 1970 BRG/W MK2 Morris Cooper S |

| You are number 6 | This morning I was in a meeting when suddenly everyone else jumped up and backed away from me. Turned out to be a hornet that they said was about 10cm long and acting very aggresively. ![]() When I turned round it had disappeared. It soon came back again; in fact it was only about 7cm long, the other 3cm was the spider it was fighting with. The hornet eventually won and was last seen dragging the spider away. ![]() |

Offline | Oh yeah, I've seen that too - got pictures of a hornet dragging a spider away at home somewhere - will post if I remember. What they do is find a nice juicy spider, attack it and paralyse it with a sting then drag it off to where they are building a nest (you know those mud ones). Then they entomb the spider still alive so the lava of the hornet have something to feed on when they hatch. Mmmmmm paralysed spiderrrr. Oh yeah, LOL at Jason’s puss story too. ![]() Jan 06 MCS Checkmate |

| Livin' the country life | Mmmm hornets, I have only had one rather painful encounter with these evil critters. A couple of years back I came home from a friends birthday party, shall I say, over refreshed Whilst stumbling through the bushes trying to get to the front door (which I was sure someone had moved) I ran face first into a hornets nest I got stung more than once (wasn't counting) and woke up the next day with a puffy face and a monster hangover Top night! NOT. ![]() |

| Cruising In The Minge | On another magical mushroom tour we ended up losing one of the members in our group. We were out by South Alligator River, a notorious breeding ground for crocs. It was common sense not to be eating the mushrooms while still fossicing but on this occassion a mate was doing the old one for me one for the bag, 3 for me 1 for the bag etc. We looked for hours for this guy and ended up having to leave him out there for the night. When we returned in the morning we found one very broken assed and pouty mate with more bites than I have ever seen in my life. Said he was on the ground and could hear rustling etc to look over and be near on eye to eye with a croc so he legged it up a tree. The tree was infested with hornets and green ants and mozzies. He only was wearing a pair of shorts and the bites were just mind boggling, not a piece of skin to be seen without a bite on it, though he says he would rather be up a tree with the green ants than on the ground with the crocs for the night. ![]() 2002 PS/PS JCW MC 1970 BRG/W MK2 Morris Cooper S |
