Offline | Great Ocean Road: Monday 7 March Late notice I know, but if you can get to the Shell on the city side of the West Gate Freeway (near Todd Rd) by 10am tomorrow you'd be most welcome. We plan to be back in Melbourne by around 4pm. I'll also be seeing some of you at the Motor Show tomorrow evening at 6 o'clock. ![]() Cheers Liam |

Offline | There was a lot of roadworks happening, it wasn't too bad other than the bank up every now and then. The above shot was taken between Torquay and Lorne. Thankfully after Lorne there was less traffic, although there were at least 4 stops due to roadworks. Jim (Benz coupe) and I were able to get past most of the traffic between Lorne and Apollo Bay in order to get some good driving in, but Stumpy and Pete (silver GTI) weren't so lucky. On the way back (same route) I overtook about 6 cars in one go just out of Apollo Bay and as a result was able to have a pretty free run through to Lorne, well, except for the bus and truck which I did get past eventually. I was even lucky enough to not have to stop at two of the roadwork points, whereas the other guys, already stuck behind traffic, had to stop at all 4 roadwork points. We met up again on the other side of Geelong at the BP service centre and I had a wait of over 10 mins for the others. Lorne-Apollo Bay is superb. ![]() On the way home yesterday we went via Black Spur past Healesville, and I could not get over how billiard table smooth the road was. I was pushing reasonably hard but a bit conservative with mrs minigolf in the car. Then afterwards she says to me, "that wasn't too bad, you could go a bit quicker next time!"![]() |
