Offline | Horror end to Tumut Trip My wife has been watching too much of Jamie Drury Barb had decided to repaint the master bedroom whilst I was away - big surprise. It looked as if a cow had eaten a ton of avocado and sand and sprayed my walls with it. I mentioned the paint on the carpet she said that she had intended to rip it up anyway. I mentioned the rollers drying in the paint trays - apparently they were cheap so it didn't matter. I mentioned the expensive looking paint brush stuck in the paint - apparently she had found it in the shed (my $25 brush). I mentioned the hole in the floor where the ducted heating vent was meant to be - apparently she fell in the vent I mentioned the lack of a flyscreen on the window - she had to break in after she'd locked herself out of the bedroom after removing the door knob. I didn't bother to mention the paint on the roof or mirror glass wardrobe doors. I had to "mention" all this with a smile between gritted teeth as she was just trying to be nice and "update" the bedroom to surprise me. I think surprise is an understatement. Next time she's coming with me! ![]() Last edited by Harry Morant : May 2nd, 2005 at 03:07 PM. |

Offline | Thats all I'll be having off in that room At the moment I'm sleeping on the lounge room floor - its still a work in progress. I was even more surprised when I got home today and found that the advocado gulping cow and her mates had been back to add a second coat - oh the humanity! The paint on the carpets almost dry and ready for its next coat too Oh I forgot to mention that no-one noticed the dog come in today and step in the paint - someone shoot me - please....... |

| Boy who made the wolf cry | Hahaha - my dad used to be a professional painter late 1970-80's - he has some classic stories of house painting including getting a call at 9pm on a Tuesday night to come over to paint a room that had been painted when a womens husband was away - much to his displeasure he went cause the guy was willing to pay cash!! ![]() One thing, dont fvck with a painter when it comes to paying your bills... dad had this upstart not pay him for over 6 months, so he went and angle grinded the whole paint off a steal structure at a persons holiday house when they didnt pay their bill... when the people arrived for christmas he got a call... to say they were calling the police to have him charged. The funniest thing was, at the same time, my dad was also the local copper!! Hahaha. Small country towns ![]() PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |

| - Little Miss Sunshine - | From one of the children in these type of adventures, I don't konw whether to sympathise or laugh.... (probably laugh )My mother used to do the same but at least it was during the week when my father was away. We got days out of school. I cannot remember what reason we ever gave for being away. Probably tried to pass of paint splashes as measles.... The fun would start when Dad came home and wouldn't notice the new paint, wallpaper (yes, the days of wallpaper). We even moved house when he was away. We got sick of waiting to move to the new house (around the corner only) so moved when he was in Belfast for a few days. He noticed that time....!!! As we got older and could drive, rather than paint/wallpaper my mother would get the idea to 'go somewhere' (she didn't drive). Now, in Ireland you can go everywhere in a day, so we would take off. Yes, out of school again. The cops (Garda) came calling one night with a speeding ticket for a week day and my father denied it totally... "But officer, I was in Belfast that day, it couldn't have been me, I can prove it"..... We didn't want to ruin a good story with the facts so just shut up. Now you know that the criminal Oirish are alive and well and still coming to Australia M ![]() |
