Offline | open day at Trivett/Autohaus Classic in Parramatta Hi All, Just got a call (not from the dealer, from a friend) saying that there's an open day at the new MINI/BMW facility in Parramatta tomorrow (Sat April 30). I've got some stuff on, but I'm going to try and head down at some stage. I have no more details than this, but I thought I'd let everyone know, as the new workshop looks mighty impressive from what I've seen of it as I drive past the perforated roller door (I've been about 4 times since the place opened 6 weeks ago haha) Cheers, Tim ![]() |

Offline | Does give a tonne of power, but If im not mistaken, Carl was running AMD technik ECU on the GreenDevil. You'd have to change to a different ECU supplier to take advantage of the 19% & Crank Pulley. However, an 19% pulley should not use an oversized crank pulley for a couple of reasons. 1. The increased boost will really affect engine wear alot quicker. 2. The Redline would probably be about 6300/6400rpm, so might not be beneficial in the top end. I would guesstimate that 19 would be the maximum boost. Its recommended 6700RPM for the 19% but I do push it through to 7200rpm. This WILL cause engine failure eventually but if you dont want that, stick with the lower boost. Put it this way,(but you probably know this) a mis-shift with an oversize CP and a 19% will probably blow your pistons unless the head is polished with some sort of titanium valve spring. Bit too much of a risk! + the extra boost needs extra cooling (oil cooler & engine temp ducting). Give me a buzz for more info if you like. Last edited by Humourl3ss : May 6th, 2005 at 09:40 AM. |

| Boy who made the wolf cry | Our good mate *Ahem*Trelo*Ahem* Did a naumber of tests on a REAL DYNO with his car with 15%, 17%, 19% and 21% pulleys on his car... Tim will shed some light on the situation, but I'm pretty sure the car made no more power than his car with 17% pulley... Plus the supercharger was basically stuffing its self. | Twincharge??? | Looks like the good old Eaton runs out of puff after 17% max. Maybe I'll hang on to the 15% pulley then stick a 2% oversized crank there. Nick - you're right, there's the AmD stage one on it at the moment so I may have to go the ecu route if I want more power out of it. Tim - what's exactly done to your car? PM me if you don't wanna let the whole world knows about your world's fastest stock MCS ![]() Last edited by Humourl3ss : May 6th, 2005 at 09:41 AM. |

Offline | Thats true, but a 19% gives you a bit more punch coming out of corners (as long as the revs are right) which would'nt be picked up on a Dyno properly IMO. I think its probably a good idea to have 2 options. Im thinking of picking up an M7 16% as well ![]() |

| Boy who made the wolf cry | Tim used to have a Hi-Tech exhaust and a Pipercross CAI - upon dyno testing Tim found that his car made less power with these parts on his car... he then took the Hi-Tech exhaust back to Lambros and they gave him a total refund for their failure to achieve power figures they quoted. I hear a rumour he his considering the ALTA CAI for 'the noise' ![]() Dont get mixed up with Wes' car which is very highly modified... Todd PROJECT POLARIS - Die Wiedergeburt eines kultautos |
