11 May, 2005 The Oaks Hotel, Neutral Bay 8pm

Next Wednesday 11 May you are invited to The Oaks Hotel at Neutral Bay (Military Road) to hear a presentation by Stu Jones, Andrew Robbinson and Steve Green on their recent adventures in the Targa Tasmania Rally. The presentation commences at 8pm. You may wish to arrive before hand to enjoy a Bistro meal and drinks. The meeting is being held upstairs in the Nancy Room (Don't call Stu and Robbo a Nancy what ever you do).

The boys will give a blow by blow description of their adventures in the Targa Rally, with DVD footage from Stu's in car camera.

To give us some idea of how many are coming just reply to this email if you can make it.

Hope to see a whole bunch of MINI owners turn up for what will be a very entertaining evening.

Harry Morant mentioned to me today, while we were forming the Magictux Official Welcoming Party, that Stu is keen to get down to Canberra and may even leave his car in the showroom for a bit. Anything I can do to help that come to fruition guys, let me know. That would be awesome!

I think it can safely be confirmed that I can talk under water with a mouth full of concrete, all I need is the opportunity and Vic openned the door

Had about 20 people show up including a few new faces. Robbo and I had some pics as well as a DVD from the presentation night that went absolutely against the International Dont Show Footage of MINI's Conspiracy by have probably more footage of my car than any others, problem is it was mostly me doing something rather stupid!

Basically just ran a very relaxed discussion on the road to Targa and tarmac rallying in general, how it works, what it feels like and perspectives from a first timer. All in all pretty sure most people enjoyed the chat.

I have been talking with Harry on a way to enourage clubMINI membership in areas outside of Sydney, in particular ACT, and yes we are working on a show and tell session with Rolfe to try to touch more ACT owners. Anyone else outside of Sydney want to approach their local dealer for an afternoon of listening to me ramble on about me just let me know

.

On another aside really enjoyed just catching up for a drink and a bit of an eat with some other MINI tragics!! Might try and see if we can organise a monthly similar get together

It was a great night and VERY interesting. Everything from the silver star on your name tag to the pace notes to the number plates, and of course all the tales from the event.

Hi Stu / Robbo,

Did you guys come across a competitor from NSW by the name of Wallis - driving a Black R32 (entry # in the 900s)? I came back to my client the other day to see his R32 plastered with T05 decals. Always admired the car in the car-park, but closer inspection revealed all the necessary gear (Cobra seats / Roll Cage / Terra / Harness etc...). Looks like the real-McCoy
