Moo Moo, Nice choice on the O.Z, always had a weakspot for them.

Would really love some 19" Superleggeras for my Golf. What model did you want? As Todd said, they're pretty hard to get your hands on, so you might wanto to order way in advance.

Have to get my a,ss on a street corner for a while before I'll put down 5k for them. They look really good but I would prefer to stick with an 18" 3 piece wheel, or some very tasty BBS LM's......grrrrr

I tried that a while back and they said to call back in two months to see if the shipment would arrive in the next six months

BBS had some stuff in the country so I took that instead. I'm ordering months ahead this time!

Nick, that Golf looks great, but as you say, a 19" Superleggera rim would be about $1200 before rubber

Looking at 18" x 7 Superleggera with Eibach 30mm lowering springs.
Should I order them from the US?

shipping would be a killer though

call the aus place first and at least ask them - given that you are already waiting for a car, the wait for the rims might not be so bad for you

There's really not that much of an advantage to bring them in yourself, freight is a killer (kg wise) but if you found someone to ship them via sea (m^3 rather than kg) then it's not so bad..that's how I shipped my Volk's back from overseas. Also, there's always the possibility the seller lies about fitment, like mine for instance..the centerbore ended up being a weird size hence I needed to get it machined to the correct spec.

I have the 17" OZ Superturismos ... had to wait a while but OZ Australia where very helpful and had then shipped to AMG who arranged the install

From memory the wheels were about $650 each ... which was not too bad ... tryin to get Volk here is extremely difficult unless you arrange for direct shipping ... investigated and in the end given the centre bore amongst other issues I went with the OZ wheels

The Superturismos are TUV approved for the MINI and come with a proper fitting kit (centring rings) which make install a no brainer ... Volk would be a lot harder based on my research

Check my gallery for a few shots

Here is a short cut...

That car looks awesome! I heard a rumour that you were anongst an exclusive few Aussies with JCW suspension, is that true?

Why would the JCW suspension be exclusive? It's an off the shelf product

Now I've learnt my lesson, I wouldn't slap Volks onto anything but Japanese cars - their centerbore ring is 65mm rather than 60 or 70 as most other wheels do and when your machinist screwed up, you screwed up as well (oh yes AMG..)

Sounds like the OZ is a good deal at $650 a pop plus some decent tyres then it's all good

Evan... last time I spoke to my contact, they had sold something like 3 sets Australia wide - hence the exclusivity status.

Thanks for that Todd, I just didn't know there's only 3 sets running around the place. I've been quoted $1350 for the JCW suspension kit which isn't too bad but slightly more the Bilstein is within reach, the basic yellow kit not the PSS/PSS9.

Here's Volks for anyone who cares

(sorry for the quality, my digicam isn't as good as Scotty's)
