Hi Stu,

Did you check out the official times that are now on the Dutton Rally Website ??

James Dutton just pipped me at Eastern Creek. On my first run I did 1.55.68 vs his 1.56.46 However, on his second run he managed a 1.55.64 to pip me by 0.04 seconds

You did exceptionally well on the Fairburn Park hillclimb, where you were the fastest mini driver on both runs Your best was 51.36 compared to the next best 51.96

Cheers

Robbo

As I said on the day, thats the fastest I want to go!!!! It was a gentle mix of balls, guts and fear with a small dash of skill

Hey Boo, have a look at this post

Thanks for the stickers for the GOR run too! Most appreciated... I have a dream of the GOR run becoming like the MINI's on the Dragon event in the USA.

If you can inject some life into the Melbourne-Geelong road that might help. Fitting I spose that one of Australia's best driver's roads comes after The Most Boring Drive In Australia™.

Look, Im sure there are much more boring roads in Australia... The Road from Colac to Warnambool is the road I would have to say is the most boring that I have been on!

I always find the Geelong Road to be a bit of a h00t. Trying to spot the cops, sitting with a pack of cars that are going well above the speed limit... or the under 30 minutes trick

If there's a more boring road in Australia I'm yet to drive it and hope I never do!

Could have used Sparky myself - blown intercooler hoses at the Queensland Hillclimb Championships on the same weekend and not another MINI in site

You going to join us up here for the Queensland round of Alphera Dutton next year ?

Hi Ken,

People who did the Queensland event were full of praise

I finally got around to getting some photos of the rally

Attached are some pics of the 2 minis, and also the awesome Gemballa 700hp cayenne (riding on 23inch rims ) and the 500hp boxster

Cheers

Robbo

G'day Robbo,

Unfortunately, I didn't know about the Queensland round until the day after. I was P!$$@d off.

Next year will be a definite. It is hard to compare because of different days, but my usual times for the Mt Cotton Hillclimb and QR are marginally faster than Ian Sherrin, so if they don't move to the EVO 8's, it will be an interesting 3 days.

Photos look great - love the twin turbo Boxster. That and the Cayenne were on the Gemballa stand at the Brisbane Motor Show, but to hear them would have been awesome.

Did you get a chance to record the Speed Week coverage of the Queensland event, if not let me know your new address and I will send you a copy. If the the NSW round was on tele this weekend, I missed it - did you get a chance to record it?

Anyway, if there was a chance for you to make it up for the Queensland round next year, would be great to share the experience.

Cheers

Ken

Hi,

I got a CD in the post yesterday from the Dutton organisers which has all the pics of my car from the rally I've attached some below.

BTW, the NSW Dutton Rally is on TV this Sunday on SBS speedweek at 12:00

Also, Targa Tassie is on TV on Sunday as well, channel 10, 2:00

Cheers
