I just saw on the News about the floods in Gold Coast, Lismore, and other areas. I hope all the Minis and everyone are OK

I am holidaying in Surfers next week (thought I would get away ffom chilly Melbourne)....looks as though I am going to have to pack my Drizabone!

My brother lives in Miami, just south of the Gold Coast.

i rang him last night to see how its all going. He told me he couldn't drive back to his place at lunchtime yesterday as the water was too deep ( he drives a LandCruiser ), so he parked it and walked home.

Apparently the bow wave of any of the cars that went through was ending up in all the neighbours living rooms. I think most of the houses in hs street went under.

I must admit that I always thought that living next to canals on the Gold Coast was a recipe for disaster. I thought global warming and rising sea levels would be the issue as opposed to good old fashioned rain.

I hope all the MINI owners and their cars are safe and sound and only soggy on the outside.
