Offline | roads to "test" the mini Hello all, Haven't found a thread like this, so I thought I'd start one and ask the question.... where are some nice "unknown" roads where you like to take the mini out and give it a good thrashing (*ahem* legally of course... )? Personally, I'm more curious about what roads are there that are challenging (i.e. corners!! ) in Sydney, but I guess let's not limit it to any particular city. I'll start it off with one road that leads from Church Point to Cottage Point (in Sydney). It's one long road with lots and lots of corners .. I've only taken my Subaru Liberty on there, but I'll be sure to take the MCS out soon. There are the occasional pot holes, but it's a nice challenging drive. Near one end it branches out into 2 roads, and u can either end up in the national park or at Cottage Point. The name of that road is San Martin Drive. Then turns into the "Liberator". Then turn right into Cottage Point Road and yeah.. go for your life. |

Offline | For a quick sprint in the Sutherland Shire, try the Old Woranora Rd Bends (Loop). Short but exiting. I took the mini down into the Megalong Valley from BlackHeath. My wife told me to slow down. Next time I'll leave her in Katomba to do some shopping. Paul |

Offline | The roads in Tassie are freakin fantastic. There are plenty here who can vouch for that. Twisty, quiet, great scenery. The whole state is just made for a MINI. I them drove up through Richmond and Kurrajong on the windy bit of road, up and back etc etc. I ended up doing close to 500km on my test drive Cheers Robbo PS : BTW, Stu is right, the Tasmanian roads are awesome and the ultimate mini roads ![]() Mods: GO MADDIE and SPARKY! |

Offline | Good call m8. Camden has some great roads for HIGH speed driving. Theres alot of new suburbs around so dont know the areas/ suburbs but basically Narellan Rd, Cobbity rd (Road which Oran Park is on) and Northern rd. There are tonnes of industrial roads around to cause trouble on. Good thing is that there are no speed cameras or cop cars with radars as its an 'under development' area. Its ruined how it used to be but is good for a fang for the time being!. Good drive though is the road up Mt Gibraltor. In southern Highlands or any Southern Highland back roads.... Just beware of the dangers of remoteness! You crash, and nobody will see as its very remote with steep hills! ![]() |
