Well after months and months of waiting our ship arrived in Brisbane today.

We were down at the chainlink fence watching and watching and watching from 7:30am but by the time we went to work at 10am they had only just started unloading the cars so we didnt see it come off the ship.

Oh well, only two or three more weeks and it will be ours. So close and so far!!!

Very disappointing not to see today but at least have lots of info if anyone else interested.

That's great news.......mine comes into Melbourne (Webb dock 5 east) at 07.30 in the morning, alas I will be at work so will not see it arrive.

My dealer thinks he can get it to me on Thursday, although I somehow doubt it....but I will be sure to let you know if he does.

Fantastic... I wish we could have seen ours roll off the Toledo, but no -one could guarantee us seeing it, or a time. Wont be long now !!!

That is all so cool!
I have such strong memories of seeing DEMINIs ship (The Tampa) sailing up the bay from a vantage point next to my place of employ (you getting this, Phil ?) and feeling like it was all REALLY happening,and feeling so connected to the whole process, that I feel excited for all of you all over again . And, yes it will all be worth the wait ,and any stupid stuff that happens in the meantime is not worth the worry. I love my MINI more with every drive,and even after almost three whole months of ownership I am still discovering new things about him,and I know I will never be the same person I was in my pre--MINI days.

I hope that is the only time the rear tow hoop will be in place

The dock area in Brisbane is NOT open to the public so please dont all rush down there. We havent actually physically viewed our car but was able to give our camera to a staff member who did have access. All we could see from the carpark was a red Cooper and then at least one mini behind that but could not tell what colour or anything. Ours was actually right at the back.

Hopefully only two more weeks to wait until we do get to see it in person!!!

Congrats Daisygirl, the BEP looks great

While I can't help but share in your excitement, reading this thread makes me a little sad

You see, my Mini was purchased by an impatient owner...who, once he had taken his first test drive ....couldn't even imagine waiting for another 3 months to get behind the wheel.

I ended up getting the spec I was looking for (through some diligent research and a lot of luck), but the one "Mini Experience" I seem to have missed out on was "the wait". I can only imagine how exciting it would have been watching the Ship unload

I guess your experience has tugged on my heart strings a little since it was a BEP/W Cooper S that I test drove for 3 days .... ahhhh my first Cooper S experience

Maybe you will take delivery in time for the next ClubMINI Run - I'll keep an eye out for a fresh BEP!

HI Gregg,

Wow, You were lucky to have a test drive for 3 days!!! We only got a 45min test drive but that was all it took to get hooked. Maybe it was the same BEP test car that we nearly bought!! Was it from Brisbane Mini Garage in the valley?? Ours is the same as the one we test drove except we didnt get the chrome exterior package as didnt want a Cooper grill on a Cooper S model.

We originally signed up for the demo model but it was only $700 more to get a brand new one so decided to bite the bullet and do the waiting thing. At times it has been exciting, frustrating, nerve wracking but now it is all coming together and only two more weeks to go!!

Looks like we will be doing the usual and picking up our mini and then more or less going on a club run ie the one to Toowoomba so look forward to meeting you there (and I might let you sit in our MINI just for old time sake and the BEP feeling!!!
