I'm keen to have a drive to Roberston Pie Shop and some before and after twisties. Who else is keen? I figure this could be a good Sydney/Canberra gathering too, as well as a good run for the Tuxtown and Bay folk too.

I'm not that familiar with the way around, so I'll need someone to give me a few pointers on the best way there and back. I reckon this could be a 9am start and home by 6pm kinda day. Ideally we'd do this in the next couple of weeks. Keep in mind, for those that are interested, the German Autofest is on in Canberra on the last weekend in September and ALL MINIs are welcome to attend.

Looking forward to finalising some plans.

We'd definately be in for this, but not in september. I know most of the roads down that way, and there's some corkers, so i'd be happy to plot us a route, buit only if we leave it till October.

Definitely keen to join in. Actually I've been intending to suggest it myself. Check out the great hillclimb roads:

Macquarie Pass
Jamberoo Pass
Kangaroo Valley Pass (not sure if this is the right name for it)

The Robertson Pie Shop would be an ideal meeting place (on the corner of Illawarra Hwy and Jamberoo Mtn Rd), although don't expect much from the pies! Being at the top of Macquarie Pass and the road out to Jamberoo Pass, it is ideally placed for some nice circuits. I've also been scouting some of the back roads around Kangaloon and the old tourist road towards Bowral (bumpy but a nice drive none-the-less), so we could work those in too. It would be a nice run out to Kiama for lunch too (via Jamberoo). Or I can also recommend the tucker at the pub in Kangaroo Valley - it's got a very nice grassed picnic area with heaps of parking adjacent for the compulsory MINI display.

The clubMINI Southern Explorer weekend is on the 18th Sep, so maybe we should try to squeeze it in before then?

18th is out for me - I'm infiltrating a Porsche Club of Canberra do at the Sutton rd. driver training centre with Bates advanced driving (skid pan course in the morning and car control course in the arvo)

Oh yeah now your talking KANGAROO VALLEY PASS!!!!!!! My favorite drive period... Its short, but oh so sweet

I have been known to smoke a set of tyres in one pass on this road, in my ute of course, not the Mini....

Ah... had a great ride on my bike today with a couple of workmates. Goulburn-Bundanoon- Kangaroo Valley- Nowra - Kiama (via Geringong for fish and chips at Weri Beach Fish shop ..recommended..) then home from Kiama to Jamberoo then up to Robertson via Jamberoo Mountain Road and then home to Goulburn. .. The weather looked crap but we didn't get a drop of rain! When we got to the top of the hill to go to Kangaroo Valley the fog was so thick I put my blinker on so my mate wouldn't run up my clacker!

On Tuesday I did Macquarie Pass to Shellharbour then back via Jamberoo.. Great Roads but often plenty of traffic!

Jamberoo Mt Rd is probably the best for traffic but if you catch someone you're pretty much stuck behind 'em for the duration..

I can recommend a few stops or routes if need be....oh, yeah I've driven my car on those roads too so count me in...if I'm not working!
