Calgary - October Mini Meet

Okay boys and girls, free up October 16th on the Calender.

Meet Details:
Date - October 16th
Time - 12:00pm
Cruise Information - Well so far it looks like its going to be a cruise down to Elbow Falls and were probably going to meet in the same place as before ( Crowfoot Chapters (Across the street from where most of us bought the car.)

More information will be updated as it becomes available.

Hey I wonder if we could some how get a parking lot somewhere to run some make shift AutoX fun? If someone has a contact with the CSCC they should fire an email to them to possibly ask were we could have this.

I'm in for any of those days. How about we pick a day - plus an alternate the week after - in case of crappy weather. The parking lot idea sounds good, I'll have to start to look around.

Sure! I don't know about parking lots though, I suppose you need to know someone willing to lend out a parking lot for these kinds of stuff?

Any sunday is fine, however I would prefer slightly later in the afternoon, say 2pm or so. Of course this will be up to the general interest (everyone else!)

16th is fine by me and if the weather is really bad, move it to the 23rd. Can we make it closer to 12 Noon - I have to work in the afternoon and 2:00 is starting to get a little late.

I suppose most MINI owners are in the NW/SW area of the city? Have we contacted MINI Crowfoot about this meet? Perhaps we can get them to show us a Mini Cabriolet or whatever they want to tempt us existing owners with

Personally I suggest we meet up in Crowfoot again, and head out to Elbow falls this time. And if anyone feels like it, maybe we can have lunch before we head out as well.

OK, even though I have to pack for a long trip to get there ... I'm game to meet in the same spot as before.
Are you thinking of going the same route down to Bragg Creek to Elbow falls or is there some other way we can go?
And I think we should just let Tony know that we had already picked the 16th.

Unfortunately I will not have my MINI before the October meet but I have been looking at Google maps deciding where to drive my MINI. Although there aren't many curvy roads in Alberta I have noticed Highway 40 which looks quite interesting. It is located just off of Highway 1A. Perhaps if someone has driven there they could tell us if its as good as it looks on the map.

Hey if you can make it on the 16th come on down to meet the MINI people, a least then you'll know a couple faces when you do get your MINI

Yeah, definietly come down on the 16th and meet some of us. I'm sure you can get a ride on different MINIs as well if you wanted

Regarding hwy 40, I've been there, its not bad. The road surfaced is potholed in lots of places last time I went there (6 months ago) so its not ideal. However if you keep going north on Hwy 40 onto hwy 546 or something, doesn't that look like great fun? I think we'll go check it out someday.

I'll try to make it out if I'll be in town. I was worried highway 40 might be potholed but I think I might still try it out sometime along with 940 and 546. It looks like a nice drive from the map.

I will be there. I am going at the CSCC meeting tonigth. I will talk with the solo2 people to see if they can help us. Last new I got from them it was they didn't find any parking lot in Calgary

Need to set something up in that huge parking lot at the corner of Centre Street where 4th street NW branches off. The place is deserted...there used to be a zellers there which has since closed down. Surrounded by residential though, so noise might be an issue.

Didn't CSCC used to use Deerfoot Mall parking lot way back when...


Anyways I'm in for the 16th. Might not make the cruise part though.
