Hmm, I just read that thread, seems like its closed? So there are no more local race tracks then?

Makes me wonder why all of a sudden there are street racing killing teens the last couple of weeks.

There is a deal in the works to sell the track to a group of investors...still nothing firm yet. From what I know right now there may not be any official races next year. However private track rentals are still a go ffor 2006. I'm a member of the Calgary Exotic Club and they are still planning on having the lapping days for next year.

Not sure if they would do the secret street thing though...guess you'll have to wait and see.

Sounds like it will be kept open and that secret street will still be a go.
Took a look at the financial projections, and not sure I buy in. Who knows.
Will be interesting to see what happens.

I hope they don't closed down race city. Where am I going to track my car? Edmonton? Nah, they use an abandoned airfield.

Anyone know of any other actual tracks around alberta?

I think a co-op would be a way to go, ownership by and for the fans of cars and driving. Do you think there are enough clubs with enough members to raise the kind of money needed? And CSCC needs a new home. I suppose then the only issue would be who gets to use the track and when.
