Updated Dec 20, 05:
The final version is ready, the PDF file is 308mb so if you want to print a copy I'll have to give you a CD. I printed a copy at staples for $28, its 11X17, 80lb glossy paper bounded on top, looks very impressive I must say! (since I made it, what else do you expect me to say!)
Kinko's might not be a bad place, or you could check out West Canadian Graphics or Maranda Repro -- they've been pretty helpful for me in the past. I wonder if they'll do a bulk deal (10 or more)?

I've finalized the Calendar and will go and see how much it is to print out. If you like to buy one I can either quote a price for you, or just send you the PDF file (max resolution, 15mb) so you can print one out at your own convenience

By the way, if you want to put any pictures in the Calendar, I can do it for you. Send me the high res version of the picture you want to be in the calendar and I can send you the full resolusion PDF file that you can use to print.
Or if you have photoshop all you can just cut out the picture you don't like and paste a better one on there :P

Damn you work fast! Must be slacking off at work and doing this project huh?
Anyway, I would gladly buy one off of you, since after all you did goto the effort in putting it together!

Nice pics ... brings back memories of warm weather, dry roads, twisties (wiping a tear from my eye). I agree that since you went to so much trouble, I'd like to buy one off you as well. After you find out about the printing you can let us all know how much.

I've got a question, how big should the Calendar be? Keep in mind that the picture and the monthly calendar will be printed on the same page.
The program I used to generate the PDF file puts them in 8.5X11 format at 300dpi, I wonder if thats too small? I seem to recall that normal calendars are 11X17?

Looks fantastic!!!
We still want 2.
Bigger is always better. I guess it will depend on cost. Maybe get quotes for two sizes?

Hmm, asked a couple of places, West Canadian seems the cheapest at $29 per copy for 11X17 colored pages and coil binded on top.
ouch!
edit: Looks like staples is a little cheaper, $1.59 per page on glossy paper, but I wonder what their printing quality is like.

Give me a day or so to ask around for you. I will call tomorrow AM. (Wed).
I'm a marketing guy, so got a few contacts through work I will ask about printing.
How many total calendars are we talking here?

Haha now you tell me! I printed out a copy at Staples, $27 with tax. Its on 80lb glossy paper and its very thick and heavy, good stuff :) The quality is good, but the black ink they use is a little too "reflective" so if you have light reflecting off the calendar the black part is a little shiny. I've tried very hard to preserve the quality of the pictures, making sure there is minimal resizing and quality loss, and the PDF file is over 300mb, haha :) The staples girl told me afterwards "You gotta give us a heads up next time, blah blah blah, it took so long to print"
Overall I'm very pleased with the results, looks awesome!
Oh btw, I do have a smaller version thats 8.5X11 inches, with the same glossy paper you're looking at $15, which is quite a bit cheaper, but quite a bit smaller too :P

Excellent work, Lucas! I just found this thread today and whipped off a note to the GM about the dealership picking up the cost of producing a couple of hundred - I'll let you know what they have to say. With a consideration for your work, naturally. :)
