Tachnometer Question Canada Models

On the tech there are 6 warning lights, the third one of which displays a symbol of an explanation mark inside a circle. On page 14 of the manual (05 model) there is a picture of this with the symbols shown. However the symbol is not the one that appears on the Canadian models. This is shown on page 17. Today this light came on briefly and did not reappear after the engine was turned off and then restarted. Could it be that I inadvertently moved the toggle switch for the ABS when I lowered my drivers window. It was after that I noticed the light came on. The manual is somewhat confusing. Can any one help?

Do you mean the yellow one with the triangle inside the circle? You can't turn ABS off but you can turn off the ASC+T, All-season control + traction I think it is supposed to stand for. When you press this, it turns the light ON to warn you that traction control is OFF! Since it defaults to on, turning the car off and on again will clear the light and turn the traction control back on.

Dsc

Apparently the toggle switch (2nd from left) is Driving Stability Control, and the warning light for this came on (3rd light from left on tach) when I pulled out of parking lot to drive home. I had to roll down my drivers window (1st toggle switch) so I may have accidently hit the DSC toggle (maybe). As, when I stopped car engine and restarted the proble seemed to disappear.

Hi,

This will also light up everytime the car thinks the tires are spinning and has activated the automatic stability control + traction feature. If the light is on and stays on, then your ASC+T is off. At least this is what I have observed.

Senior,
The switch you are describing is the ASC+T (automatic stability control + traction), or DSC in cars so equipped. The light will remain on if you flick the toggle to indicate the system is disabled. Flick it again (either up or down) and the system will be reactivated and the tach light will go out. The light will flash when the system is active, ie. preventing the wheels from spinning. The default for the ASC+T or DSC is on, so if it is turned off when the car is switched off it will be engaged when the car is restarted.
Hope that helps

If the light flashes, it means low traction. If it is on solid then either you turned it off or it is broken. If you press the toggle again, the light should go out -- if it is always on then go to your dealer as your traction/stability control is broken.

Yes, today no problem, so I guess I accidently hit the wrong toggle switch yesterday. My car calls it DSC, today it came on at startup and than went out and stayed out. Many thanks for help
