Offline | Mini Cooper Purchase Hi, I am looking at a 2005 Mini Cooper with the premium package and cockpit chrono. It has 5700 kms. They are asking $28,000 and I was wondering if you would consider this to be a good deal or not. |

Offline | If it is a private sale, you would not pay GST on it. Like Xtreme said, you'd also be saving the delivery ($1,600), environmental taxes & PDI. If its a dealer, you pay GST though... |

Offline | It is at a dealership and has climate control. Plus I am not seeing a ton of used in Alberta unless some of you know of some good resources. The $28,000 includes everything. |

| Fly Heli's they're fun! | Unforutanetly for buyers (good for sellers though) the resale value is very high on these. Given that, I would say it is a little high, and you may be able to knock it down a touch, but otherwise, it's the way it is. You will like the Mini. |

Offline | Yeah, so far he has been informative and helpful. What do you think about the price? Right now I am considering this mini or another car and right now the only thing I am concerned about is my budget and pricing. |

| 05 MCS BEP | If it's from a dealer, then it is probably a demo. 5700 kms on the odo means it's barely broken in so you are essentially getting a new car. The price seems a bit high but if you're willing to pay that price, I would suggest you ask the dealer to throw in a few extras like maybe a set of rubber floor mats (for the winter) and a boot mat, especially useful if you do any skiing. Even maybe extend the warranty and see if you can get the first oil service covered. At 5700kms, I would at least ask them to do an oil change as you don't know how the car was broken in. These work out to a few hundred dollars worth of perks and you're doing the dealer a favour, so probably wouldn't be too much a problem getting. It doesn't hurt to ask. Keep us posted on what you decide. |

Offline | I'm puttting in my 2 1/2 cents - I think the deal isn't as bad as it first sounds. Covering taxes and delivery charges, etc. the price ain't half bad - it's all still covered right? And I LOVE my climate control !!! I know it isn't that expensive an option and a lot of people don't like it, but I love it. Turn a button once ... drive on ... no thought ... just the right temp ... Driving is Everything ... Anything else is just waiting around ... |

| Fly Heli's they're fun! | I did get mine from Sean, and mine was used too. I was basically in the same position as you were. You do save a little, get practically a new car, and get options that you probably would not get had you ordered a new one (as MiniMorison said the climate control is perhaps expensive, and nice, and is an added bonus by getting the used one). You are right, they don't deal much, but the service is pretty good. Sean your ears burning yet???Trevor. |

Offline | It is actually between two mini's. The other has the a couple of more features (upgraded sound system) but 17k kms. So right now it is coming down to who offers the better price. |
