Well back in June when we were told that the 'S' would only be available in a 'Special Edition' format we were also told that the JCW would not be an available option, which some thought to be unfortunate (to put it mildly). But, to celebrate the win at the '05 Targa Newfoundland, MINI as put together the JCW Competition Package and it appears to be very limited in number - 60 country wide, to be exact. And what a package!
- JCW Engine kit

- JCW Alcantara & Leather steering wheel w/ logo (though MFSW is not available)
- JCW sill strips
- JCW Alcantara brake lever grip
- Shift knob with JCW logo
(no chance you'll forget what you are sitting in..)

- 2 piece 17" Web spokes

- 3 yr. scheduled maintenance at no charge
Along with the usual Engine Tuning Kit serial number, each of the Competition Package cars will have additional badging and numbering to further distinguish them from the pack.
Added to the optional premium package, along with the usual items, there is also power folding mirrors and the Harmon Kardon sound system. Oh, and there are three available colours; Hyper Blue, Astro Black and Chili Red.
Depending on pricing (not announced yet) this goes a long way to making amends for the GP not making it to Canada. It excites me to the extent that there could be a low km and much loved jet black '05 JCW looking for a new garage to call home!!

Wow that sounds to be an amazing package! Although with all the stuff thats on there, I'm going to guess the price will be quite high. Too bad it doesn't have the JCW seats either!

No doubt. The cost if specc'ed individually, but w/o the steering wheel, shift knob, brake grip would be about $46,800 I guess it all comes down to what the 'feature' price is as to whether or not I'm dreaming

When guessing the price, remember the GP. Most people had it figured at at least 8,000 to 10,000 over the actual MSRP. All of the works parts are not a replacement, and the actual cost of one part is very similar to another. So the only bump will be the cost of the improvements to the head, supercharger etc. Suspension and brake parts are probably almost a wash.

I think that is a really nice package, I like it as well as the GP, or even better. Congratulations!
