Offline | It went into Autotrader on Friday, I believe, though I just checked the ad and they didn't put the photo's up (?). Hopefully that get that sorted quickly. But I have had a couple of calls already, and one fella has been to see the car.... |

Offline | Thanks for the updates, Faster! That means I have to get off my duff and sell my porker ASAP. I have one nibble in Calgary right now, but not a strong one. I don't suppose you are interested in taking on a consignment car? ![]() How many Astro Black/Black are listed as sold with Yaletown? My salesman is being kept in the dark about build info on the cars, which is most unfortunate. |

Offline | Wow! Surprising to hear that a salesman wouldn't have access to such information. I am glad to have dealt with an informative and progressive dealership (MINI Crowfoot). All I look for in a dealer is high level of product knowledge, zero BS and willingness to deal. It is also satisfying to know that some of the sales personnel are passionate MINI-nuts in their spare time. My local E-town dealer failed on all points. Too bad so sad. |

Offline | If I wasn't in Vancouver right now, I would definitely be working with Crowfoot. I've always enjoyed going in there, even after several years of being out of Calgary. My salesman out here is great and obviously loves Minis, and the Yaletown dealership has been fabulous, but I get the feeling that the salespeople just don't have access to the information due to some dealership policies or politics. When I was in Calgary recently, I have to say that the sales folks were amazing. My wife was amazed that they would actually let us try a car without babysitting us (which is something I have come to accept as the mark of a good salesman: offering the choice), and was also impressed by the enthusiasm and knowledge of the staff (ie. they didn't stand around nodding and pretending they knew as much about their product as I do). I'm looking forward to moving back to Calgary so I can go in and visit more often ![]() |

Offline | 2 AB are listed sold by Yaletown. I'd have to ask about the Porker, but the fella I need to speak to is on holiday. PM me the car details, and I'll pass it around. Just got word that the cars (well, Crowfoot's, anyway) won't be here 'til September How many decals are the cars getting!!Last edited by faster,Tobias! : Aug 15th, 2006 at 09:49 PM. Offline | Maybe they want the cars to look just like Tobias... that could take a while! If Crowfoot's cars won't be there until September, I doubt the cars will be in Vancouver any faster. As for my number, I guess I will have to live in mystery a while longer... though there is a 50% chance you can give me the right number ![]() |

Offline | The suspense is killing me. I don't know what it does for you, but I gotta know ! So here goes; #18 was purchased/marked sold on the 17th of July. #45 was " " " on the 19th of June. Does that solve the mystery? I think the delay applies to all 64 cars, alas. |

Offline | Hmmm... that bodes well! I am pretty sure that I would be #18 then (unless they change cars on buyers, which I would see no reason for despite them being identical). The suspense is palpable, and will be felt much more thoroughly when my mind is one with the new car. Right now its mostly the indicision that is killing me. And, if I don't get over the indicision soon, it will be my wife who is killing me At least I've made the decision to sell the Porsche and get the Mini rather than a different vehicle. That was the hardest part! Deciding on a Works vs. an S or even Black vs. Red/White is the easy part I think the waiting is harder on those of you who know the car you're getting is sitting and waiting for the right train... |

Offline | I have to admit, the notion of excessive decals bothers me some. I don't want any large graphics of any kind. I can handle something subtle and small, preferably our specifc numbering. That is all. I recall some JCW stuff on the doors of a '05 MCS last year that made me nautious. Am I alone here? What are your thoughts? |

Offline | I doubt they will go overboard on the decals, Canadian. Probably something similar to the SOHO and RALLYE decals, the speedo thing and maybe a rear badge or something. Mini seems to be pretty good at realizing that people want to individualize their cars ![]() |

Offline | h Though being somewhat in to individualising my MINI, I do understand what you are saying. I debated when I took delivery of Tobias whether or not I should leave off the JCW badging, going total stealth or or letting the world know. I left them on for resale reasons, and because it seems every boy racer, mini van and big truck wants to smoke you from the lights - I fight the urge to indulge them but sometimes lose the inner war Having said that, should the car arrive with 'Competition Edition' plastered all over it in big letters I can foresee that being a red flag for sooo many people, and I can only take the taste of dust for so long ! (never mind the visible profile you establish for the local constabulary!) In that case out would come the heat gun, and I'd be peeling off the more ostentatious graphics. But, of course, to be replaced with something more understated....![]() |

Offline | My dealer called me last night to tell me that my MINI had been loaded onto the transport ship in Southampton and was on it's way across the pond. I told her that I thought the cars had already arrived in Halifax and were awaitng decals prior to delivery to the dealers. I would hate to have been left behind. |

Offline | Our internal system shows your car leaving Southampton on the 1st and arriving in Halifax on the 8th. Isn't it fun knowing more than the SA She must wonder where you get your info..I just checked, and with the exception of the 4 MINI Canada cars, which had arrived by July 19th, the other 60 cars all arrived on the 8th of August. |

Offline | Well, that takes care of that! Thanks as always, Faster. BTW, I'm now ripping my remaining hair out thinking about red and white vs. black and black. It doesn't help that someone parked a very pretty red/white cooper outside the building today. |

Offline | You can join our CR/W club. With Tobias' decision, we currently have two members and counting. I warm to this combo more and more. I agree, none of the three were my first choice. Ideally I would have liked a matching CR roof. For me, as beautiful as Astro Black is, the aerokit won't show as nicely. I have a black X5 that I installed a 4.8is front bumper (painted lower cladding). It is barely noticeable except after a fresh Zaino treatment. Taking that into account + increased potential for paint swirls + that dust magnet factor + Red & White defines a classic MINI + those happen to be our national colors = my math and why I'm in this limited club. We have room for you, but to each his own. You can't go wrong either way. And congrats on the marriage. Last edited by I Am Canadian : Aug 17th, 2006 at 12:23 AM. |

Offline | Your awareness vs. the rest of the Canadian dealers continues to amaze me. They are either not plugged-in or very lazy. I think its the latter. Check this link from a guy at X5world.com. He has great shots of the processing facility in Cali. Maybe this is similar to Halifax. http://www.inlacal.com/mcoupe |
