Canada 2007 Mini - Canadian Spec speculations?

After reading all the hooplah on the new R56, I've been wondering when Canadian option and pricing info is going to become available, and figured we needed an all-Canadian thread since we always get different packages from the rest of the world. I've also really been wondering what goodies we will be getting up here: is the electric defrosting windscreen going to be available? How about electric folding mirrors, or at least mirrors that dip to show the curb when you reverse? Will we be getting all of the interior customization options? Please post your thoughts and speculations!

i already have electric folding mirrors so i'm sure that is possible.
as for the defrosting windscreen, i think in calgary you would end up replacing it every year or two.

now that i have Duncan, not sure i want to know there are new cool things coming

Of course you should divulge We can't let the Americans get all the info... Caveat: don't say anything that will get you fired.

Oh! The info is now gone. A few weeks ago we accidently accessed some option info for the '07's on the extranet - I just went to have a look and it is gone. I thought that perhaps they had erred in putting it up so soon, and it looks like MINI thought so too! Alas, other than two of the options for the dash colours, which is now public knowledge (Piano Black & Redwood) and different coloured door inserts. I can't remember anything else!

Oh well I have the feeling that you'll be keeping an eye out should such info reappear. I don't suppose you remember anything about the option pricing, and whether it is going up a lot?

There was no pricing - it was on the 'search' screen, where we would normally enter the options on a car we are looking for. We did receive a product bulletin today regarding the '07's, but it the same info that as been on here and motoringfile for a while now, and no pricing but the promise we would receive that info 'closer to market availability'.

Just what is the expected 'market availability'? Being a fan of instant gratification, I'm more inclined to buy off the lot than to torture myself waiting for a pre-ordered car to be delivered. Will the first batch of 07's be spoken for before they arrive?

That's for sure. With a upright windshield it is a given in Calgary.
I will soon be putting in my 3rd windshield in 2 years.....

I got a nice spider web ding within 10 days of getting the car. Thank God the windshield still haven't cracked after a whole year, but I do have about 4 medium sized dings and countless small ones.

I would think that with that gap between end of '06 production (October) and the arrival of the '07's (March?) most of the new cars will be presold. And if demand continues the way it is I can foresee running out of the current model before February! (Dinner invitations gladly accepted over the winter!)
As for pricing, we didn't know what the 'Rallye' package was priced at until a week before we delivered the first one. I hope we get more of a 'heads-up' this time, though it shouldn't be a stretch to guess what they will cost from the pricing they set for Europe.

Hmm... that's a good point! What are the windshield replacement costs like? And has anyone found an economical windshield insurer for Calgary yet?
