Offline | Anyone from Edmonton know this car? I see two posts from Edmonton. Anyone recognize this car from last Sunday at the Namao airfield? There were quite a few cars doing autocross on the decommissioned airfield at CFB Edmonton on Sunday morning. Looked like quite a bit of fun. What a shame only one person had the taste to drive a Cooper. I'll be at Paddy's Flat on Saturday for my son's Cub Scout day camp. I'll let you know what the roads are like. |

Offline | So much for advance planning, hotel booked, etc. with Sunday's run in mind... Nearly two and a half years of ownership and no probs... but tonight coming home from the gym the engine symbol is lit (service engine soon) and it won't go out! I checked the gas cap, it's tight. The service interval countdown still reads around 7k to the Inspection 1. Car seems to run OK aside from one idle drop (no stall), but I'm leery of driving very far with that light on. I'll be calling MINI Edmonton at 9:00 tomorrow, according to their website they are open for service on Saturdays 9:00 to 3:00. I'm hopeful they can squeeze me in and sort this, I even borrowed the digicam from work for the run. Update : Just went to pick up the Son from basketball and the light is out, so if all is well on the morrow we'll see you Sunday. |

Offline | Hard to tell from the picture the colour of the car - black or blue? Have seen around town an Indi Blue S with black bonnets, but don't recall if it had S-lites or not. |

Offline | My light went on once three years ago when it was a cold day but sitting hot stuck in a ton of traffic. Later that day the light was out. When I called the service dept they told me not to worry about it if the light was out now ... just to monitor it. Maybe sometimes the engine gets a little hot or something. Anyway, since three years ago, the light has never come on again. Driving is Everything ... Anything else is just waiting around ... |

Offline | I haven't had the time to check out what's been happening lately so sorry for my absence. I hope to attend at least part of this event. I have soccer things I need to do at 3:30 but I should be able to come for most of the run. 2 weeks ago when it was near freezing and almost snowing I decided to put on my winters. I also did this as I had to drive to Edmonton the next week. It figures that as soon as I did this, it is sunny and 24. oh well, if it snows I'm safe....See you there. Sidenote..I cruised steadily to Edm and back this week. I got 7.5 liters per 100 km doing about 125 kph steady on my winters with the odd blip up to 145. My city driving is somewhat higher averaging 9.5-10. I am pretty happy with that highway mileage on my JCW but something tells me that I might get a wee bit worse mileage on this minrun. ![]() cheers, checkm8 (2006 CooperS+JCW+Checkmate+Premium+HK) |

Offline | Back from the run and onto the forums! One would think that I had better things to do... It was great meeting everyone who came out! Despite the lousy weather I think we still had a pretty good time. I'm looking forward to actually getting to drive next time. Extra thanks to Rob for the lift from the airport and Lucas for allowing me to ride shotgun! P.S. Craig, what the heck happened to you? ![]() |

Offline | It was great fun meeting John (Mr. Abulia) and everyone at the meet. I wish it wasn't raining and I wish we drove faster, and I wish we had lunch earlier (I was so hungry! ) but overall it was a fun meet.Gonna post some pictures soon, hopefully I've got one or two good ones. The foothills is gorgeous this time of the year and I think I'll go to Elbow falls again this saturday to drive faster and take some more pics ![]() |

Offline | Nope, I wanted to, those moo cows were so funny. Especially the one that stood on the shoulder just watching us go by. I swear it winked at me when I honked. Mr Abulia joked with MINIVee on the radio that we should hit one of the cows and have steak for lunch, I suggested we use one of the JCW intercoolers to cook the meat. It could have worked, you know! Anyway, here are the pictures I took today, enjoy! It was fun and I hope we organize a snow rally/autoX this year, that would be awesome for a December/Jan MINI Meet I think! ![]() Click me for pics! |

Offline | Great stuff guys. Sorry I missed it. Hasn't even been a week of ownership for us yet, my wife is still fine tuning her timing with the 6 speed. Strange thing, the weather up in the Chuk was absolutely gorgeous today. |

Offline | haha. Great timbit pic. Tony insisted I buy them to trade for his spare tire. I believe I ended up eating all 40 of them while writing my paper today. Yikes! It was nice meeting everyone at chapters. Next time hopefully school work doesn't interfere. |

Offline | Nice job on the pictures Xtreme. You should enter that picture of my wheel in the banner contest. I haven't looked at the video yet, but I'm fairly certain that cow is on there! So how come it was dry when we left Crowfoot, started raining soon after, and it was dry when the run ended at BP's? Did we tick someone off today? Nice seeing the gang again, and meeting some new faces also! And how about that guy in the red MINI on Highway 8 on the way home, getting flashed by about a dozen MINIs.... I wonder if he caught on. ![]() ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |
