Offline | 3 DAYS????? Aren't you special. All credit to MINI Crowfoot. That is pretty amazing turnaround time. Seems they crated the new engine to Calgary pretty fast too! Maybe they don't want you driving around in their loaner too long ![]() |

Offline | Looks like Warrantydirect.com in the U.S. is coming to Canada starting Nov1st 06. Warrantydirect.ca website is up and running. They don't have quotes yet but in the U.S. a 2 yr, additional 40,000 mile extended powertrain warranty on a 2002 Cooper with no deductable is going for around $1,000 Cheap... cheap like a budgie for anyone with a worrysome Midland or CVT transmission or a lubrication free engine like Gord's. |

Offline | I beat Gord out of the garage! After 4 days at the dealer's, and spending time with various bits of tape all over his nose for noise testing purposes, my MINI is back. The odd high pitched "dog whistle" sound appears to have been fixed, so I no longer have the neighborhood dogs following me around when I leave the garage. And apparently, I'm receiving a new bonnet intercooler intake, as the old has been fingered as the cause for the high speed, constant whistling. Driving an X5 was nice, but not as nice as my MCS. Also, driving the big Beemer seemed to bring out certain anti-social tendencies and it had a magnetic attraction to Starbucks drive-thru's. ![]() ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |

Offline | I purchased something similar on my Land Rover. 3yr, 60,000 mile extended warranty for $1500. I was surprised they offered me a warranty on a '95 Rover. Good deal...have already had an alternator replaced. However these warranties are usually deductible based, mine has a $250 deductible. |

Offline | Any longer and they would have had to worry about removing duct tape residue. ![]() Duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side, a light side...and holds the universe together. (Just not Gord's engine). |

Offline | These guys have zero or $100 deductable depending on plan selected. Upon further review, they do have quite a few conditions like no valid claims in first 90 days/1,000 miles, require commercial oil changes every 4 mths/4,000 miles and claim maximum limit of liability per covered vehicle is $6000. The limit of liability per covered component is as follows: $3,300 in engine claims; $2,200 in transmission claims; $1,500 in differential claims. All U.S dollars of course. |

Offline | [quote=British SD;2718256] I agree. and BTW Land Rovers don't leak, they mark their territory. Speaking of which, I have an outstanding fuel tank recall I still need to get done. Nice was to get rid of all the crud and buildup after 10 years. On most of those if you do not make a claim during the period, the full cost of the contract is reimbursed. That is how my Rover warranty works. |

Offline | I have the extended 7 year warranty on my car, but I'm not sure what all that covers. I'll have to dig out the original paper work. I'll let you know about the costs, etc. if I can when I get my car back. Driving is Everything ... Anything else is just waiting around ... |

Offline | I don't know. I got it when I first purchased the car in 2003. The car I drove before (Toyota Echo) - when the lease was up I bought it and gave it to my daughters - extended the warranties another 3 years for not very much (can't remember exactly how much) ... but well worth it. Hopefully MINI allows you to do that. Driving is Everything ... Anything else is just waiting around ... |

Offline | Hey everyone! I hope the ones in Calgary are enjoying the snow the last day or two, I sure AM! Put the snow tires on saturday night and had so much fun driving on the fresh snow on Sunday morning. The roads got extremely slippery once more cars started coming onto the roads though, there is this corner I normally do about 65km/h in the dry, I was taking it easy at about 15-20km/h and I still understeered about 3 feet wide than my intended line! Still, it was great fun spinning around, doing handbrake turns and generally enjoying the cold The snow tires I have grip better in a straight line than going round corners, so pulling the handbrake in tight turns to slide the rear a little actually does let me get round the corner faster, haha! (don't tell the police that)Found a really cool looking tree in Bowness too, I didn't know chilli red/white combo existed in nature! I love this shot so much I think I'll put it on my 07 MINI Calendar. Speaking of which, I'm not "allowed" to sell stuff on MINI2, so it looks like I'll have to offer you guys a free PDF that you can print off if you want a copy. I made a post about printing calendars and reselling them to you guys for cost but that post was deleted and I got a warning, yikes! ![]() Anyways, have fun, drive safe, and send me some pictures for the Calgary MINI Calendar! If any of you want your car to be on the calendar I'm more than willing to come meet you for a little photoshoot. I don't want the calendar to feature like 6 months of chill red/white! (as much as I like my own little MINI) ![]() |

Offline | Happy Halloween Have a good Halloween everyone. Our Bull Terrier, Jack, is ready for the trick or treaters. We call him Bark Vader. Contrary to the photos he actually loves the costume. Last edited by I Am Canadian : Oct 31st, 2006 at 06:10 PM. |

Offline | Well boys and girls, can you spell weird ... breaking in a new engine at 61,500 kms. I got my car back yesterday. The service department did an exceptional job!!! Complete new engine assembly - approximately $9,500.00 Labour to install complete new engine - 2,000.00 Complete new headlight unit - 800.00 Installation - 100.00 Total Cost - $12,400.00 Signing paper with zero total because of Warrantee work - PRICELESS So far the car feels terrific. Its great to be back with my old friend. The fit is like an old leather glove ... ok maybe there are newer, more fancy gloves out there without duct tape on the fingers ... but the fit ... awhhhhh ... Driving is Everything ... Anything else is just waiting around ... |
