Offline | So, looks like it is going to be officially winter starting next monday, snow and below freezing weather forcasted for Calgary! I just put the winter tires on for a day to make sure they're not leaking, and quickly swapped back my summer tires for these last couple of dry days left. It is so much fun ripping up the corners with these summers in the dry, I just did a personal best of 0.99g in a corner coming home today. Turn off traction control, understeer, oversteer, a flick of countersteer, weeeee I hope it snows a lot, or not at all, I can't stand driving on dry roads with those winter tires, it's like trying to run with boots on, you can do it, but it's no fun at all. |

Offline | Huh... looks like I'm driving into Calgary earlier than I thought, then! I don't have winters for the P-car, and I need to get there for next week... Of course, it is Calgary. It'll probably be sunny and 35 by next Friday ![]() |

Offline | Initially I was not a fan of the OEM kit, but slowly grew to like everything but the rear bumper. For me, as an owner now....it all doesn't matter. This CP car rocks. The "middle grill" you speak of appears to me as part of that molded bumper. Not a trim addition. |

Offline | I put my snows on last Sunday, as I didn't want to wake up to three feet of the white stuff & switch my wheels in a hurry. You can rip around corners in the dry with them one, but you can practically hear the dollars fluttering skyward. Happily (I have the tire warranty) I found a nail in one of my nearly-worn-out Eagle F1's (I bought them in Aprl!!). Now I'll have to remember to find another nail for one other tire in the springtime! |

Offline | Drove down to a dog club meeting to take pictures today. The best part of the drive was definitely the 270 degree on ramp from Deerfoot onto Barlow trail. ![]() If you look at that map, deerfoot going south, a big loop onto Barlow north, so much fun going at about 105km/h there I envy you guys living in the south, hehe |

Offline | Oh yes, actually last month when I went to that dog club, I took Glenmore onto Deerfoot. I don't remember the S curves too much, because I was too busy waving and weaving left and right to stay good bye to some truckers who didn't let me merge a couple blocks ago Another similar one is EB 16th Ave just past COP, merging onto NB Sarcee Trail, good set of Ss there too. |

Offline | All this talk of twisty roads is making me itchy. I haven't driven my girl all week and I'm starting to get irritable. She was towed to Crowfoot today for service Monday, so hopefully I'll have her back Tuesday. Then I'll have to make up for lost time ![]() |

Offline | I hope they manage to fix her up on Monday... and I hope you have your snows on so that you can get her home again! I don't even want to think about what the roads are going to be like next week ![]() |

Offline | Yeah, looks like it is "wet snow" on monday, however the rest of the week now seems to be mostly above freezing. I sure hope it will be warm enough for the snow to just melt away so I can put the summer tires back on I have perfected tire change in the garage, takes me 15 minutes to change all 4s, so I'm going to put on the snows only when I have to! |

Offline | That's pretty good What kind of jack are you using? I've got a Canadian Tire wheeled jack (el cheap 2 ton variety with stands), but it works pretty well for changing out tires. My only issue with doing it in the garage is the space between me and the walls... I'm a big boy ![]() |

Offline | I have two 2.5ton hydraulic jacks, one of them is this Michelin brand I use a piece of 3 foot long wood to spread the load, put it under the side frame of the car just behind the front jack point, and jack up the whole side of the car from there. |

Offline | Ok fellow Canadian MINI friends, I need your help! Over at North American Motoring there is a photo contest every month, this month's subject is "Fall Colors". Now it is probably too late in Calgary to shoot pictures of the fall, but I do have a couple from our last 2 MINI runs in Calgary that I think look pretty good. I just can't decide which one I should enter the contest. Not that they're good enough to win anyway, but atleast I should send the best one of the batch. 1. ![]() 2. ![]() 3. ![]() 4. ![]() 5. ![]() And for those in Calgary, if for some sheer luck you still know a place that has good "fall colors", let me know, so I can go check it out and take some more pictures! |

Offline | I still vote for the one you took of my rear wheel with the leaves in the background. Strong and understated. Do you have a link for the thread on NAM? ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |
