| 05 MCS BEP | AMVIV anybody? That's A MINI Vacation In Vegas. I have WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) to drive down to Las Vegas for this MINI event in March. Since it's spring break time, I'm bringing my family. I understand it's a two day drive (an 8 hour stint and a 10 hour stint) to LV from Vancouver. However, I hope to find a twisty highway at least part of the way. I'm not totally keen on interstates. Anybody else thinking of going? 05MCS BEP - Alta 22mm rear anti-swaybar, Madness CAI, (15% pulley soon to be installed) |

Offline | I'm considering going, especially since I met some members from the Sin City MINI Club last week (we had a lovely supper at the Aladdin!) . However, I'm thinking I'd rather fly out and hire a MINI locally. Then again, a Canadian MINI convoy might be fun... ![]() ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |

| 05 MCS BEP | Hiring a MINI locally sounds like an option too but I suspect you should book a car ASAP as the AMVIV website states they are expecting around 400 MINIs. I'm not sure how many Canadians are interested in convoying or where we can meet up. Boise Idaho maybe? 05MCS BEP - Alta 22mm rear anti-swaybar, Madness CAI, (15% pulley soon to be installed) |

Offline | We are going to AMVIV but flying in from Australia and renting a MINI. Looks like must get organised quickly. If we cant rent will be trying to catch a lift with people. Same trip we are driving with Whistler to Sun Peaks (Kamloops) but I believe there is a way that we can go that doesnt involve going back through Vancouver. Does anyone have instructions?? Will have a 4wd for that part of the trip unfortunately and not the MINI but need to carry skis, luggage and people. Would love to catch up with any locals in Kamloops as staying at Sun Peaks for a week and used to live there many years ago so could probably still find my way around town or something. |

Offline | Try Google maps - it looks like Vegas to Utah to Spokane and up to Kelowna may work for you; Google Maps Enjoy the trip. |

| 05 MCS BEP | From Sun Peaks, you'll probably cross the border just east of Trail, go through Spokane Washington and head south from there. From the Google map, I'm not sure where a good place to spend a night would be. Spokane is still too far from LV. Maybe Idaho Falls? From Vancouver, We'll cross the border at Blaine, and head east from Seattle. I plan to spend the night at Boise Idaho before taking the final leg to LV. 05MCS BEP - Alta 22mm rear anti-swaybar, Madness CAI, (15% pulley soon to be installed) |

There is only one MINI available for rental in Las Vegas that I have found and I have just booked it since we are flying in from Australia. Good luck in a search if anyone else wants to book one. |

Offline | Sorry should have mentioned that I need the driving instructions FROM Whistler TO Sun Peaks. We will drop the 4wd back to Vancouver and then fly to Las Vegas and pickup the MINI. |

| 05 MCS BEP | From Whistler, you go through Pemberton (the opposite direction from going to Vancouver) to Lilloet. Lilloet joins up with highway 1 (Fraser Canyon). From there, you can either head north and hit Kamloops or East and then North from Merritt. That might be the long way though. ...whoops! A check on google maps shows a shorter route. Go north towards Pemberton, take a right about 73KM and take turn onto highway 97 then the Yellowhead highway. I too lazy to type out all the details so it's probably easier for you to check it out on google maps. You get pictures too Wow! It's a 4 hour drive. 05MCS BEP - Alta 22mm rear anti-swaybar, Madness CAI, (15% pulley soon to be installed) Last edited by beken : Jan 16th, 2007 at 11:55 PM. |

Offline | What gives? Les than two months to go and Beken is the only Canadian registered, out of 260 vehicles. We can't get away, especially not for more than a day at a time but I always thought the Alberta crowd was pretty adventurous. |

| 05 MCS BEP | Mine's a two to three day drive too. I also got sideswiped by my wife's relatives. Sounds like some of them are going to be visiting N. America that week. They wanted to come to Vancouver and now are diverting to Las Vegas. My wife can join them there. I'm sticking with my plans and going motoring. Why can't I take a vacation with my immediate family without relatives joining in? Sheesh! 05MCS BEP - Alta 22mm rear anti-swaybar, Madness CAI, (15% pulley soon to be installed) |
