MC2 issue 6

OK, I'm proud (no kidding ) I have had submissions in MC2 issues 2-5 and now have a full page to myself - more accurately, Velveteen MINI has a page to herself . The last word is my Velvet Red Cooper and I am pleased.

Well done, Velveteen. I'll head over to Chapters and see if I can find it, though they don't seem to bring it in with any consistancy.

edit: Got it! What a good photo. I don't think we've had that much snow all winter in Calgary. And nice rims, too. I haven't seen that style before; did you have those on at RITV? If so, I didn't notice them.

Very cool.....I'll have to wait a couple more weeks and then see if Chapters has the issue yet.

Those are my aftermarket 15" winter rims with snow tires, which have come in VERY handy the last couple of months. In fact, I finally can see a little bit of grass at home. We got another dumping of snow a couple of weeks ago and it's just starting to melt this week out in the boonies where I live. BC seems to have had Alberta and Ontario's weather this year. Give me back my rain!

Summer wheels are 16" stock with run-flats.

I am definitely gonna keep submitting to MC2.

But purple? How did they ever mistake Velveteen Red for purple?

He knows it's "burgundy". Maybe he doesn't think the Americans can handle burgundy or even Velvet Red. I refuse to get too picky.

Velveteen Red? Am I converting you? I'm just more visible than the other Velvet Reds, I guess.

Yes, you've got it. A happier ending than the story, I hope.

I have pictures/mini articles on Vancouver and Seattle events in issues 2 onward. There is even another beauty shot of Velveteen MINI in one of the other issues, at the beach before a run. It's a very little shot though.

I think this issue will form part of my display at car shows. Vancouver is planning a Go Kart day in a few weeks. I'm going to try to get a few shots in from that. Only MINIs in the parking lot, not on the track so don't know if it will be printed. I figure they need content since there certainly wasn't much going on in the last couple months so that should be in my favour.

MC2 encourages all MINI clubs to submit items for their magazine. Next event, take some digital shots and submit 3 or 4 of them with a brief description of the event. You may find yourself in print..

sweet. let us know how the Go Kart day goes. We usually have a bunch of camera junkies out for our MINI events, so i guess we just need to take the next step and do submissions.

P.S. sorry for accidentally booting you from SD this morning, sent you an email

BTW if you want to read the secret ad on page 8 just use a see through (clear) red piece of plastic. Ya don't need the glasses.
It's pretty cool.

Congrats VM on being a star.

Doh. And I was using a piece of red cardboard
Actually, I wonder how they got that animated MINI to move around like that, considering it is a printed media.
