ICE shop in Calgary

I'll be in visiting Calgary in the next few weeks and was hoping to pick up a Dension Ice link for the ipod/MCS You lucky guys get to buy these things about half the price of UK list price!

Is there a good store you can recommend that will sell over the counter?

I called four of the larger places, and the only shop that had them cleared them out a couple of months ago. When I checked the Dension webpage, there is a Canadian distributor listed, so I submitted a request asking for Calgary dealers. Apparently I will be notified by email within one business day. I'll let you know.
Cheers.

E.W.

I am in Alberta and had a rough go looking for Dension for my X5. I gave up after getting no response. Good luck and enjoy the visit.

Speaking of ICE, I was looking at upgrading the stock speakers to ones from JL Audio. Anyone in town that carries these btw?

Then I came across this little unit on MotoringFile :

DPSM: The JCW kit for your MINI’s sound system.

It is designed for the MINI, is much better than the H/K and apparently is covered under the factory warranty.

Faster, have you guys come across this stuff yet?

It is an OEM item, and it is listed in the accessories catalogue, though I have yet to see it installed. Interested in giving it a listen, though. After all the years in the F&B industry, however, I have come to appreciate quiet, and don't need the volume!

And Ed; the distributor sent me the number of some company down east, who referred me back to the distrubutor. Sorry, mate.

The MINI Sound module is $1285.50 installed at a the Vancouver MINI dealer (Yaletown MINI).
Kinda pricey but might be reasonable to some. I'm not so up to date with car audio pricing.

Well, I ordered the DPSM unit, and it will be fitted in two weeks (in time for the Ice Cream Run!).

I'm looking forward to giving it a go and listening to it (when the kids are *not* in the car... )
