Offline | Halifax If one goes by this thread one would think most, if not all, Mini cars in Canada are located in the west, but I am noticing more and more on the streets of Halifax. Now it is possible because of the high cost of a new Mini that Nova Scotians cannot justify both the new Mini and a computer, so could this be the reason we only see on Mini2 the rich west? The dealer here says it has been the best year ever for Mini sales here and they sold out early on in their allotment of Sidewalks. Come on Easterlings and place a word or two on Mini2. ![]() |

Offline | Hello Halifax: We're from New Brunswick and I have also been seeing more and more MINI's in our picture province. I have stopped in to the Halifax dealer and gave them this web site with the hopes they could encourage new buyers to log on. I have also dropped off a CD of photos we took when we attended MINI's on Top in New Hampshire last year and I haven't delivered this year's photos yet. Nice to see an Atlantic Canada thread start up...... 06/mcs/sb/checkmate |

Offline | We live in Halifax and have an '06 Mini Cooper S "Works" car. In fact, I just got back from PEI where I drove it in the Slalom@Slemon event. It is an exceptionally well-appointed car for grassroots motorsports events like tihis and also great fun for weekends away, like last week when we drove it to Boston to see The Police! The local chapter of the BMW Club (which Minis are welcome to be part of) is interested in organizing a Saturday drive through the Wentworth Valley for the Fall when the leaves are changing, with a stop at the German restaurant in Aulac, NB. |

Offline | JCWCOMP62 Is there a web site that I could check out with BMW/MINI events happening in Atlantic Canada. It would be great to be able to attend something in Atlantic Canada allowing us to meet other MINI owners. We have gone to a couple of events in New Hampshire with another 500+ mini owners and 270+ MINI's - what a blast. I have thought about trying to get something organized with reference to meeting somewhere around the NS/NB/PEI border area that would give an opportunity to meet other MINI owners. Don't really know how to get the word out to see if there is any interest in meeting and going for a "drive" or even where to start. I'm hoping when the Moncton MINI dealer opens next year that they can assist in drumming up some interest to this site. This might result in Halifax MINI getting involved also. I'm going to look into acquiring mini2.com stickers to see if that helps with the interest to this site. Looks like there are 3 of us interested in the east for a bit of chatting - the numbers can only go up... talk soon ![]() 06/mcs/sb/checkmate |

Offline | Isn't this great Glad to see some Halifax owners responding. My wife and I just returned from two glorious weeks driving throughout Newfoundland, we put on 3,770 km and experienced beautiful weather and super wonderful people. I could go on and on telling story after story about this great province, but I shall leave it to all of you to go there and experience it yourselves. The roads are, for the most part, good, but with surprising pot holes that require the Mini to really make quick sudden jumps to miss them, which mine did excepting for once when we hit a major crater and lost the Mini medalion off our left front wheel. But, for the most part the rads are good especially the Trans Canada, and secondary roads are filled with delightful twists and turns, steep grades and balls or fun. St. John's is a hoot and lots of night life and again, you just have to experience the people. We took the ferry from North Sidney NS to St John's and then the other ferry back (much shorter, 6 hours vs 14 hours). There is no Mini dealer in Newfoundland and out car was quite a novelty. ON one occasion I stopped in a small village to take some pictures and three people came running up wanting to take pictures of our car. The two coasts (East and West) are very different, and the North Peninsula is a must to explore. The food is top notch though I was getting a bit tired of Cod. We hit mostly bed & breakfast 4 star accommodations and all were extremely good value. So for a top notch Mini vacation, drive East, take the ferry and enjoy the roads (sans pot holes) of Newfoundland. Someone asked for a photo of our car so I include the one taken July 2005 showing my wife receiving the keys. She still hangs on to them most of the time. |

Offline | I was down in Halifax earlier in June this year, and I was surprised how many MINIs there were! Although, not as many as Montreal, I think throughout Canada, Montreal might have the highest concentration of MINIs, followed by Vancouver (maybe Vancouver has more, really). Toronto's got its share of MINIs as well, and Calgary would be 4th. New Brunswick and Nova Scotia were so incredibly pretty! If only I could find a job there, I would move there for sure. I LOVE the ocean and the lobsters!! |

Offline | Should not be difficult to see MINI's in New Brunswick. Just go to Halifax Harbour. Afterall, every Cdn spec MINI in Canada comes across the Atlantic Pond into Halifax. ![]() |

Offline | MINI Owners of the Maritimes (MOM?) Use the following link for the Bluenose Chapter of the BMW Car Club of Canada: Bluenose BMW Club I belong to the Atlantic Sports Car Club and we are involved in solosport (autoslalom), rallying, as well as organizers of races at Atlantic Motorsports Park Atlantic Sports Car Club › News Perhaps over the next couple of months some of us can get together and maybe come up with a couple of meeting dates for 2008. The Schnitzel Haus in Aulac would be pretty central for a NB/NS/PEI gathering. In NS, there are plenty of coffee shops and cool diners. Suggestions for day/month and place? |

Offline | Aulac is sure closer....... Great suggestion, Aulac would be a great meeting place and is a great area with lots of twisty roads that MINI's would just love. Something closer to home would be great. We have made a few trips to New Hampshire and Cape Cod, Mass. to drive around with some great MINI owners during the past 2 summers. It's been fun, but unfortunately, we're always the only ones from Atlantic Canada. Would love to have some company. ![]() Unfortunately, I do not know any of the other MINI owners in New Brunswick, but hope to some day and some way to meet some motoring buddies. Checkm8 is getting ready for a much deserved winter rest starting either this weekend or next, but I'm always lurking on this site. We'll be back on the road in May. ![]() Any other Maritimers lurking around, join in and maybe we can start an Atlantic Canada thread. Thank you Senior for trying to get the MINI's rolling.......... 06/mcs/sb/checkmate |

Offline | I know how you feel Maybe the way to go is to get Celia Cox of Sales Mini BMW Halifax to send out an email to past purchasers asking if a Mini club is a good idea? The problem might be that her boss may not be in favour of the many (?) responses. I have no idea how she might go about this or whether she would, but she is the only person with the database of names. |

Offline | Anyone Heading to MoT this year? The MoT 2008 thread has started up - anyone else from Atlantic Canada heading down, or thinking about it? We have gone the past 2 years and have had a blast. Love to have some company driving through the Airline to Bangor. Due to another commitment, we are unble to stay on the Saturday night, so I do have a hotel room to offer to someone before I give it up if you are deciding to go. You would have to secure accommodations for the Friday night. The room is at the T&C, the meeting point for MoT. Check out the thread and hope to see you there. 06/mcs/sb/checkmate |

Offline | MoT 2008 - New Hampshire MINIS on Top is a blast. Approx 250-300 MINI's all together in Gorham New Hampshire the end of June for some fun and driving. We plan on leaving our place in Rothesay, NB on Friday morning, arriving in NH late afternoon. Then it's off on the Moose Hunt at 6:00 pm - and yes we saw some moose last year lurking on the side of the roads and crossing the road too. Back to Town and Country Motel for some fun. Up bright and early Saturday morning for a rendez-vous at the Loon Parking Lot to check out all the other MINI's. Then it's off on the group run of your choice and meeting at Mt. Washington for a great meal, then up to the top of Mt. Washington (what a view), back down again and back to the Town and Country for some eats..... (and this is just the first 24 hours). You have to register for all of the fun and there are separate charges for the meal, run up the mountain, etc, but all for a good cause. Last couple of years they have raised over $14K. each year to help someone out. A great fundraiser and lots of fun. Check out Minisontop.com or check out the thread on this website for this event. Would love to have more Atlantic Canadian cars attend. So far, we have been the only ones from Atlantic Canada attending. Hope to see you there..... ![]() 06/mcs/sb/checkmate |
