I've recently ordered a new Clubman from MINI Downtown in Toronto - Cooper S, BRG and black with the comfort and sports package plus a couple of extras......

Anyone else out there take the plunge without even the opportunity of a test drive?

I just got an email from the MA promoting the Clubman and it will be available in Feb 2008. So haven't really seen one on the Calgary streets yet.

But I have seen one when I was in HK during Christmas, it looked pretty cool.

If I remember correctly, Canadian Driver test drove it, feel free to take a read.

There have been cars ordered, but the first production month for Canada was December '07, and they will arrive toward the end of this month/early February. So far it is receiving positive reviews, and I think the only issues that have been pointed out is the visibility out of the back window (due to the split van-style doors) and in the RHD cars, the fact the third door opens onto the street .

Just came back from having my car serviced. MINI Yaletown told me they have over 30 orders already. If I order today, it would be fore a July delivery. Probably won't get a test drive for awhile.

Before Christmas, MINI Richmond told me they had more than 20 deposits already. Kevin at MINI Richmond tells me MINI Canada may have underestimated the demand for Clubmans.

I'm not in a hurry so will still wait for a test drive and then evaluate whether or not it would meet my family transport needs.

I notice that MINI Oakville has the first Clubman in Canada in the showroom from today.....

So am I still the only person mad enough to have ordered one sight unseen? Any other Canadians planning on ordering one?

I finally saw one up close today at MINI Downtown - I did see one on the road in the snowstorm on Tuesday night. I suspect this is a media car.

I must say it seemed a lot larger than I thought especially the "boot" space - plus the fake floor and netting for the back will be pretty useful.

I'm looking forward to taking delivery of my car, hopefully by the end of next week.

Has anyone else on here ordered one yet or actually had their's delivered?

Have not ordered one, but did take a look at it at the dealer last night.

Looks good, although I'm not sure worth the upgrade yet over my cooper . . .

Apparently, yes, I will be the first in Calgary to pick one up . . .

It's a Cooper, Nightfire Red silver roof, with the panaroof, leatherette seats etc.

Nothing really fancy, just a small step up from my current cooper.

P.S. if anyone wants a great deal on a '05 cooper, let me know.

I will post pics of the new one soon.

Well I finally got my hands on the new Clubman on Thursday.....

I've not seen any others around town - anyone here have one yet?

I must say it handles well and I find the extra cargo room and rear seat access invaluable - I wonder how I ever managed without them!
