Looks to be a good spec... especially the LSD - is that still offered at $350?
I would be wanting to add the USB audio/Bluetooth package, they have brought that in at a reasonable price, $490 I believe. (although for full functionality you have to buy the Y-cable from the parts department me thinks)
Imagine you must prefer the Crown Spokes over the Flame Spokes, but the the Flame design has grown on me over the years, and they come with Summer performance Dunlops, whereas the Crowns come with all-season Contis?
I remember fondly ordering my R50 at the end of January '04, the car arrived at Crowfoot April 12th, good times...
While waiting, check out motoringfile.com.

Choosing options has to be the hardest thing i've ever done...

If you had a choice...would you go for:

Sport Package

or

Leather blue/black seat
Chome Lime Package
Media Package

And why...? I really can't decide if I want to keep the sport package or not. Wasn't able to test one without sport. How is the roll and what speed is it noticeable? I have to have my specs finalized asap.

Oh yeah...you're right about the LSD and the Flame being summer and Crown being all seasons.

The roll is not noticeable, you won't miss the sport package at all. As I mentioned in your other thread. Save your money on the sport package (and ugly stock wheels) and buy yourself a nice set of lightweight aftermarket wheels. It will make a much bigger difference in handling.

The only thing I would like with regards to the sport package is the steering gets 'stiffer' when sport mode is on. This provides a more positive feel to the steering then regular (more like the gen 1 cars). That is all I would say the sport gives you. It does give you the sport seats too, which are quite nice IMO.

BTW I don't have the sport package on mine, and find the handling nice. I do miss the stiffer steering my 05 had though.

The S comes standard with sport seats and the sport button.
I personally would pass on the Sport package on an S. (but not on a Cooper, where the package adds these items)

Even without the sport package there is no discernible roll when cornering hard - I'd take the Ray cloth/chrome/media connect over the sport package.

Then all we need is the ability to turn on the stiffer steering in software somehow . Any ideas Tobias .

I decided to go with all the above minus the media package. Thanks for the input.

How do I make time go faster?

Congrats on the purchase. You will enjoy it.
As for time, I suggest that once you get the car you travel at exactly 88mph (back to the future style) and travel back in time to give yourself the car earlier. Might just work.

If I could do it again I would buy the most basic cooper I could find. I would have 90% of the car I have now, in terms of performance, etc. for nearly $20 grand less.

Hi,

Just a thought, but the media package is actually quite nice, as it integrates blue tooth phones for handsfree calling. The system does work quite well. I am finding I actually use it quite a bit. If you don't get it, no problem, just get a Garmin Nuvi 660, and you will get MP3, GPS navigation and blue tooth all in one little package . I got one before I got the clubman, and it was great, but now that I have the media connect package, I don't use it much anymore.

Unfortunately, there are too many options to be had, and you can probably add the media connect one later anyhow.

I'm sure you will enjoy your new car!

Thanks again,

I don't really like to talk on the phone while driving which is one of the main reasons that I don't really need it.

Just need to get a little older now so my monthly owner's choice payment isn't less than my insurance. ;p

Haha, the basic cooper IS fun. I've had summer tires on my MINI since the beginning of the month... Who needs more power when you're redlining 2nd gear going 90km/h on an onramp anyway

On the boat and on it's way!

Is there a way of tracking my mini like they have for US bound minis?

Unless it changed since I tracked mine...

If you have your MINI's VIN, you can go to the shipper's website (in all likelyhood Wallenius Wilhelmsen) and click on Customer Centre-->Cargo Tracking:

and enter the VIN there. Can't remember which cargo type it is, either RoRo or Auto.

Once its off the ship and on the rails, you'll have to pester your MA.

How long did yours take once it was discharged from the boat? Any chance of delays? This has been the longest wait and the only thing making time pass is the flames in the playoffs LOL.

Once it gets to Calgary, the dealer keeps it a few days to inspect, and "prep" it for you. Could take another week or so.
