Hey,

Count me in for the 20th as well. I'm pretty sure that Kelsey's doesn't do breakfast...

...but, I'm also pretty sure that there is a Tim Hortons on that same block (south of 401 on 25) that has some damn good coffee!

Question

I thought about us changing it but I wonder if people already know to go to Kelsey's. Is it too late to change it? Would an empty lot of a closed restaurant be better for the initial meeting anyhow? I sure hope we aren't confusing people now...

Hey ho...just caught on to your thread...

I may be able to make it in my MCS...Coming from Waterloo so milton is the ideal in between meeting place...I Happen to be an experianced ralliest too so I may be able to point to a few roads in that area you don't know about.

Kelsey's definatly does _NOT_ do breakfast.

Harry Make a descision on Kelseys or Tims.

Everybody else sen Harry your email address so he can send out a "This is how its gonna go" email...that way we don have to check back and get confused with all the different ideas.

I'm coming from Guelph and another fellow may be coming in from Kitchener. Perhaps we should meet on the way out to Milton?

Gordon suggested we still meet at Kelseys as it has a big parking lot and will be empty. We can pick up coffee if we so desire and drink it while chatting and looking at our cars. I'll send PMs to people who have expressed interest here and lurkers who heard Kelseys mentioned before won't miss us.

So the Kelsey's parking lot then. Makes sense to me and should be good considering it will be empty. Tim Horton's parking lots are a mad house!

Who's joining me a little earlier at the 5th wheel truck stop for breakfast? It's right beside Kelsey's. Here's the menu:

http://www.5thwheel.com/restaurant.asp

So what time are we meeting at Kelsey's? Was 10am agreed upon?

Yes, it was 10:00am at Kelseys so it can be 9:30am at the 5th wheel or something like that.

No! don't make it earlier! Many of us need our weekend sleep. I know I do. Keep it at 10 or 10:30. I know some of us go out saturday nights and need some sleep.

I have to work overtime every night and every weekend until the end of the month. On the plus side, all the overtime is paying for the house and the car.

Too bad, I seem to be missing the meets.

A winter run doesn't seem like that bad an idea actually. Assuming all of us are running our MINI's as daily drivers.

I'll be getting some snow tires soon ($$$ ) and wouldn't mind testing them out a little rally-style. My preference would be a non-challenging, easy wide open area to get familliar with the car's handling.

Still trying to find a set of 16" dealer take-off rims, and a set of the run-flat Dunlop Wintersport M3 DSST's.

Have fun. We'll have to do it again.

Jay - are you getting a Cooper or an S?

Jayomatic, do you want to grab breakfast? That's the only reason that I'm showing up early as I wasn't sure if anyone else wanted to grab breakfast at the 5th wheel. If you're up for breakfast we can leave it for 10am and meet at Kelsey's and head over to the 5th Wheel. If you're not up for breakfast then I'm simply getting to the 5th wheel for 9:30 for breakfast and then to the Kelsey's parking lot for 10am or so.

Harry are you up for breakfast?

Noahe: Snow rally? Actually, it already snowed a bit tonight here in Guelph so we may not have to wait long for a snow run. I think a snowy MINI meet would be fun. I'll be putting Dunlop M3 DSSTs on mine to drive through the winter.

Paul: I'm used to eating breakfast before 10:00am but if a few are going to be there for breakie then perhaps I'll let my stomach grumble on the way over.

Here's hoping Saturday isn't too rainy a day to wash the car...

I think we have 4 definites, 2 probablies, 1 maybe and perhaps even some silent ones like yourself who might put in an appearance? I've sent reminders to the probablies and maybes. The definites have replied here in the last day or so and don't worry me.

Looks like there will be a good turnout!

Don't think I will have my mini on sunday.

Crap!

It is ready to be picked up too but my whole finances issue has been driving me crazy. I also have to get a credit check thingy done so I don't know if they could do that on saturdays or not.

Either way I think I might get it monday but still not sure.

Saw it at the dealership tonight though. Looks fabulous except it came with silver wheels when I ordered white but they have about 10 cars with the wheels I want so it shouldn't be a problem switchin them.

I hope. See you guys sunday thought!

Map for Meet
Here's a map that shows the meet location. See everyone tomorrow around 10am.

Who is a go for breakfast? I'm doing breakfast and will be heading over to the 5th Wheel from Kelsey's around 9:30-9:45 or so. Jayomatic, I know you want to sleep in so if you want me to wait until 10 for break fast just say the word.

Cheers,

Paul

Looks like my day isn't working out. I should have known better--getting up at 5:00 am to care for a 6 week old, and then the 2 year old that woke up at 8:00 pretty much explains why I haven't even seen a shower yet! But it does give my wife some time to rest.

Too bad, it's a beautiful day. Maybe next time. Hope you're having a good time!

Great meet today! Sorry some of you couldn't make it. We found some pretty great roads. O well. Next time for sure. We had 4 cars today. 3 S's and 1 cooper. It was quite funny seeing the faces on people as 4 minis go flying by.

Also a funny experience happened on the way home. Paul was driving his S back towards milton to drop me off and we ran right smack into a Honda civic club of some sort driving around. Of course we had to give em a little hell. It was quite funny seeing all these civic drivers all around trying to wave paul by. haha. I hope we can find out which club they were to find out if they talk about us showing up. One of the civics seemed to have a little engine trouble after we followed him. I think Paul pressured the guy to drive a little and he might have broke something since he had a bunch of black smoke coming out from his car afterward! haha.

Also passed a performance club with corvettes, and 911's.

We managed to find some really narrow roads as well with beautiful scenery. Recommend it next time we all go out.

Cheers!

Hey guys thanks for the fun outing...

I found a couple of the "rally roads" I mentioned on the way home...It all comes back to you when you recognize the first "Apex" tree...

if you start at Kelsey's head north to sideroad 5...then west until Appleby Line (met the same Porshe/corvette group there)south (ver nice and OOHH so tight)...until sideroad 4 go west (beautiful! ) then south on walkers line to sideroad 2 east (beautiful! ) then north on appleby agian..another shot at sideroad 4 then north on walkers back up toward the highway...nice compactroute... and silly fun....

Yup, the meet was great! Snake Road and area are real fun. Running into the Civic club was a highlight. They waved me by right away, I went up ahead and pulled over around a corner. They came by 2 mins later and I pull into the middle of them again. Followed them for a good 10km or so. The one directly in front was a real rice-cooker with bazooka muffler etc. Even had the big metal wing on the roof. I think there were around five Civics. Great fun. I really have to find the message board that these guys are from, they must be from a message board or club on the net somewhere.

Let's do this again sometime but next time we have to watch the Honda boards and spoil their fun again.
