Mechanic for fixing transmission in Calgary?

Hi Everyone,
I have a 2002 mini 1.6L. It only has 52,000 original km's and the 5th gear in the transmission has decided to retire. So I was driving on the highway in 5th going about 110km/hr when BAM, super crunch noise, car shuts off. Long story short, the works great right now...........as a 4 speed. I am looking for any information on a reliable (and hopefully honest) mechanic that can have a look/fix this for me. I didn't bother with the dealership because I believe they just replace the transmission which is too expensive. I parked the car in my garage a few months back when it happened because I couldn't afford to fix it and fear if I keep driving as a 4 speed, the pieces floating around in there will mess up the other gears . I hate just seeing it sit there so I thought I would ask around on here to see if I can find any help.
Thanks!!!!!

He used to work at the BMW dealership but struck out on his own. I had him do the CVT tranny fluid change on my '05. Saved me a couple hundred bucks and did a complete inspection and road test of my Mini. Did a great job and came to me highly recommended. After my experience, I'm in full agreement.
The guy's in my Starbuck's car club have had very bad things to say about Crowfoot Mini's service, which is lackluster at best, pricing is through the roof and competence can, at times, be questionable. My personal and very brief experience with their service made me feel like a second class citizen.
