Question.

Can you please help me with the spelling/meaning of what sounds like a "weener"?

Was in Calgary several years ago. Word, or anything like it, doesn't seem to be in the usual (even American) dictionaries.

Is it a sausage/hamburger, roll or sandwich, whatever?

Details of any other food names familiar to the residents of Pincher Creek, I'd be very grateful to receive.

Cheers.

wiener? geez that's a weird question...lol.

wiener

n : a smooth-textured sausage of minced beef or pork usually smoked; often served on a bread roll

Does that help you out?

Sure does Clive, thanks a bunch.

Just one more question to prey on your generosity of spirit just once more - seem to recall that at Pincher Creek - strewth - what a magnificent panorama of the Rockies is set before you at the top of the hill/rise where the road leads out to the main long distance highway (we just ain't got that sorta thing in quaint little old England, home of the MINI) - the party of people met to queue for wieners and drinks in a kind of courtyard, around wooden tables, sitting on wooden benches.

After consuming same we all departed. Any ideas as to what that particular meet was called? It was certainly important to them.

Cheers, Clive.

(Enjoy the MINI, built in Eng. but for the most part sourced from factories throughout the world)

Sounds like a picnic with picnic tables to me....lol?!? This is fun. Did I get this one right also?

picnic

\Pic"nic\, n. [Cf. F. piquenique. See Pick, v., and cf. Knickknack.] Formerly, an entertainment at which each person contributed some dish to a common table; now, an excursion or pleasure party in which the members partake of a collation or repast (usually in the open air, and from food carried by themselves).

n 1: a day devoted to an outdoor social gathering [syn: field day, outing]

hmm you got me. Was it some sort of holiday/festival or something?

Here is a link to the list of events in Pincher Creek. Maybe that will help you out.

Funny story "how I found out about the MINI Meet in Edmonton"

Midnight driving down Whyte ave...see a classic mini in the distance and go chase it...turns out there is a mini meet the next day at 11:30 in the morning

I'm in Edmonton every 3 week on average...what are the odds that I found the mini past midnight and pulled up and talked to the owner on a set of red lights…what might not have happened 

Check out my gallery for the Pix form the event

Hey lot15 - welcome to MINI2.
I have read a number of your posts on NAM, as I don't see very much info from Canadian MC owners here.
I am only a lurker on NAM, but recognized your member name from there.
Hope to hear more of your Cooper adventures here on this forum, particularly since we will share a similarly wretched winter season all too soon.

Canada New MINI Owner in Calgary

Hello. I recently picked up my '05 MC (Silver with Black Roof). Any ideas where I can find a nice selection of zaino or zymol products locally? I need to make sure it is in good condition before the snow flies. Motor on.

- Steve.

Are we going to do something?

Hey, I've been slacking as far as the forums go. Are there any gatherings/ events going to happen in Edmonton? Parked my MCS for the winter, saved a few bucks (not to mention wear and tear) but I can't take it anymore. I'll be getting it out soon, weather has been great and I just have to drive! Any locals getting together? Want to chat about our cars? Take care and enjoy the ride!
