| Let's Motor. | Electing positions for the SOMC club! Hey everyone, I think we should have a few positions addressed for the SOMC club. For starters, I think we should have a president? I think Paul is a more than capable person for president after all the hard work he has done with the site and all. Another position should be the vice president which I think should be Alex for all the work he's done with the logos and all. Let me know what all you guys think! Tell me if you have any other ideas or suggestions for more positions! ![]() -MiniMan7 (And since all you guys were wondering... it's Adam) Last edited by MiniMan7 : Mar 24th, 2003 at 06:30 AM. |

Offline | Thanks for the vote of confidence. What ever I do with in this club will be done to my full capacity. I love my Mini, I love cars and this club is going to be great. I'd also like to organize marketing material and graphic design artwork. I think I have that magic touch when it comes to advertising the Mini ![]() As far as positions are concerned, we need a President and vice president to organise the bulk of the clubs events and marketing, and a secretary/treasurer which will be responsible for the club bank account, admin etc. I will gladely be vice-pres if that's what the members want. Thanks again. Alex ![]() 2003 B/B Cooper S. Premium. Sport. Sunroof. |

| Let's Motor. | Treasure/secretary sounds like a nice position. I wouldn't mind running for it. I've been treasurer for quite a few clubs around school and stuff, having come from a family of math (my Mom was a math teacher), I feel I could really help manage the club bank account and everything. In case people are wondering, math is my best subject, I have 92% in Calculus and 85% in Finite, both OAC courses. I would really like to be treasurer/secretary. However, we all know I am very young (18 to be exact) and if anyone has a problem with my age and doesn't feel I'm capable I really have no problem seeing someone else take this position. I just really want to get involved! Thanks! -Adam |

| MINI2 Regular | Hey all, I'm not sure that positions are all that necessary, but if that is the group conscience, then so be it - I'm in for Paul and Alex as well. I think all we really might need is some sort of mission statement (e.g., My buddiesGrand Valley Caprice / SS Club ) As well, might I suggest the following: A regular meeting time (monthly?) Possibly having some runs for charity? (e.g., $10 pays for an excuse to drive and goes to some sort of charity - might gather some publicity...) A planned route so I don't have to lead blindly next time Here's a site that might come in handy next time, Great Ontario Bike Roads Take care all... |

| MINI2 Master | We never learn, do we? "OK, _next time_ we'll plan the route and bring maps." "OK, _next time_ we'll REALLY plan the route and bring maps..." | Now With More Cowbell | I'm up for the charity idea too. Please make all cheques payable to "The Christopher Winkels Mortgage & CJW Upgrade Fund". ![]() Jokes aside, it isn't a bad idea at all. Just something credible and well known (heart & stroke, cancer, etc.) -CW Global Moderator |

Offline | Adam, you have my vote. Really the positions are simply to allocate jobs and divide up the organization of the club so that when a event comes along all areas have been covered and the other members have had a good time. Should help the club run smoother. It will take time though to smooth out the rough edges. A set time every month is definitely a great idea, and probably a set place aswell ![]() Alex ![]() 2003 B/B Cooper S. Premium. Sport. Sunroof. |

| MINI2 Senior Derelict | Roscoe, The charity runs are a fantastic idea! I'd suggest charity runs be done on very public roads and highways. I think that some sort of structure would have to be taken into account for the club, especially if we start collecting money for charity. Another thought could be that cars get "sponsored" for the charity runs, in other words you hit up your friends/family/companies for some $$$ to donate to the charity. Each "sponsor" company or individual gets his/her name written in some form of removable way on the car (Don't know how we would do this, shoe polish?). The charity run would then all meet at a central location and together apply our sponsors names to our cars as a group. We then hit the road! We could announce the charity runs in the community sections of papers and if we get enough interest radio. MINI might even want to be involved in this if we can get enough people to participate. This would rock and would all be for a good cause. Paul |

Offline | I think this is a lot of good stuff - if we are going to collect/handle money we need 2 people to open bank accounts etc and I am happy to work with Adam on this. my math is no where up to his level but I have worked in the financial services industry for 30 years so that might count for something. aka KWKSLVR Member: Southern Ontario MINI Club BMW Club of Canada - Trillium Chapter |
