hehe. Ya, good point Gordon, I think the car is a little more expensive than a whole chasis.

Couldn't agree more, slicks/750bhp,no electronics.

(Gordon, check out the thread on SOMC about brake fluid again)

I'll go one further: slicks, a 1.0 litre turbo mill with as much boost as one dares, and no electronics other than the a common ECU for all teams.

Oh, and manual gear changes.... with a proper stick.

I think some things like sequential gearboxes are fine. One must keep in perspective that this is suppose to be the top is technology. I don't like traction control, dynamic suspension, fully automatic gear boxes and two-way telemetry.

Anyone want me to add an F1 forum over at SOMC?

Now there's a thought.... or better yet, just make it a catch-all "Motorsports" forum.

Sorry guys. Did not mean to get so silly. Just happy to have my MINI back! And no, I don't plan on taking it to any ovals.

It was getting to me but I think I got my MINI back just in time... I was starting to like the exhaust note of the 3.0L V6 It was ready early Monday morning -- too bad they couldn't squeeze it into Friday afternoon but I guess the parts truck just arrived too late.

I have an appointment to put my summer tires on Monday but now I don't know if that's a good idea. The weather forecast keeps dropping the temperatures down and down -- Friday's high was to be 15, now down to 8 with a cooler Saturday. Could be more white stuff in store for us yet and I don't want to be blamed for it on Monday I would like summer tires on the car before the next meet though.

One of my buddies had an SHO Taurus for a while and it was a complete blast to drive. real sleeper too so it was easy to blow people away and, if you didn't point out the marking on the bumper, your wife need never know.

Too bad they made the later SHOs automatic only. V8 instead of V6 but slower with the slushbox and not as much fun.

The suspension on the regular Taurus is pretty squishy, hope it was better on the SHO. Dodging wind-blown branches showed the wallowing body roll of the SE.

My car won't lock and they gave me a Ford Windstar rental today -- what next, an F350 Econoline van? I apologize in advance if I am even goofier now.

Alex, we may be driving your car for the rally this weekend...

MINI Woodbridge has MINI Cooper loaner cars! Granted they are yellow with large "MINIWOODBRIDGE" stickers all over it.

I got a MINI loaner that I didn't even need last year (drove it 4km to work, then 4km back, didn't even go out to lunch). But either they don't have any left or they don't do that now. I'd take an advertising mobile over this Windstar Sport any day (there's a good one, a sport minivan).
